I do both. Lining up the smaller items is always insurance against last minute mad dashes where employees purposefully place items in the wrong place to see what confusion ensues.

As we have scaled down the gift giving except for for granddaughter, don't plan on hitting the stores, will be doing any shopping online this year. We will stay home and enjoy the ballgames, food and family. The last couple of years the finds haven't been that great in the store plus with the change of hours, the crowds are horrible. We may venture out later or on Friday but the list is short, we shall see.

Have to grab the early deals I can before and when stores are closed and have to hit the stores on BF, until I drop, always have a budget for useful items and major discounts.

I have never shopped online on black friday, but am planning on giving it a try this year. I will still go out to the stores as well though, nothing beats being out and about in the stores.

I do online for what we "need" and go to brick and mortar for the fun!

Best things to get online depend on what you are shopping for.  Probably the "limited supply" items as the online sales start earlier in the week.  If you miss them, you have a second chance in person.

Some of both.  I will look online Wednesday night to see if I can get things on my list.  I do this regularly now, but this year I will be driving long distance (New York to Texas) for Thanksgiving, so buying online saves space in the car for the long trip home.  But I will also do in store shopping in part for the adventure, and for smaller items I don't see online.

I do both. I love going out to the stores, but the more items I can cross off the list early the easier it is to get to the items in store.

I do both as well!  I already started my online shopping and will continue as I see deals.  I can't give up physically going out, but I DO wait until Friday.  There is a part of me that misses the craziness on Friday mornings, but another part of me that loves that I'm part of a smaller crowd of early morning BF shoppers.  By the time I go out, the crazy's are gone!

I hope to do both. Going out of town this year and won't have a car. Hoping I can find someone who will want to venture out for a while. Otherwise it will be all online

I'll be doing a combination of the 2 as I have for a few years now. Once I see my must have items then I know what prices I can jump on. I'll step out late Thursday night and again Friday morning.

Mostly online. I usual grab a few things at brick and mortar stores but it's been a few years since I waited in line for anything. Of course I've got two kids with iPad mini's on their list this year so that trend may change.

I loved all the online sales last year. The bulk of what I needed was available online. I still went out for the things I wasn't able to purchase online. I do love being out and about in the stores. We have a good time shopping followed by a big breakfast break and gear up to go out again.

Last year, most of the top BF deals were online on Wednesday night. That's the night to be available if you want to score a lot of deals. Very few of the online sites wait until Thursday night/Friday anymore.

We snag all the deals online. Later in the day after the crowds have died down, we'll hit Home Depot, Target, Lowes..We've got Elite status at Best Buy this year, so hoping to get it all even earlier.

Gotta love the early sale for Best Buy; I believe last year all of my items from there were ordered by Tuesday :) and I even made Elite Plus this year!!

Online all the way. We did go out to some stores the afternoon of Black Friday and by us the stores were deserted by then - I was able to get all the things I wanted from WalMart and Home Depot that I couldn't order online. Hadn't planned to go but we had gotten our Christmas tree and the stand we had was too big for the trunk so we needed a new stand.

I am attempting online this year. I have to admit I am a little sad about missing the excitement of being out in the middle of the madness. All online tips would be appreciated!! :)

My RA has been going above and beyond the call of duty recently, so I will probably be online more than in store this year, sadly. I will still probably venture out, but it won't be until later in the morning after I've had a chance to become functional again.

I'll be out of town in "Small Town USA" territory with the only big store in town being a Walmart and everything else a good hour+ away, so not sure I'll be able to get out to brick-and-mortar stores this year. Will be the first time in many a year. Need to find someone who will go to JCP for me and get a snowglobe, since I won't be able to! :gdthums:

The little snow globes are a nice little thank you! I hope JCP does the buttons again. I was able to save $30 with those buttons.

I was so happy with Best Buy last year. The video games and headsets! Yes, their sale did start early!
