Kash
Another post got me thinking..... Remember when the stores did GIVE AWAYS to get you to come out early and to their stores first? What ones were your favorites?? I loved Target's Hot Wheels cars with some having special marks on the bottom for door prizes. I also loved JCP Snow Globes. LCPanther1975
I liked when OldNavy gave away a game or camera, last year I don't think they did that. I love love love the free stuff!! I think Belk did the $5 scratch off, that was up to $500 or something, I won $10 one year!

Elmck
I loved the Sears gift cards to. I still go to Steinmart because of their scratch off in the ad and Sports Authority gave out Scratch offs last year too. I hope they do it again $10 is all I ever get though. I would love to be a big winner.
magickallight
Loved the snow globes and we had a store that used to give away Cracker Jack boxes that could have up to a $500 gift certificate in them - those were fun and a nice treat for us HUNGRY shoppers.
jaymacfla
Sometimes it is the simple giveaways that are the most meaningful. Before CompUSA turned bad, they always gave out hot chocolate to all of the patrons waiting outside. Best Buy has done this but very rarely. I always keep some handy for cold line-mates and news reporters.

wittenlover
Still love the JCP snow globes. Glad they brought them back last year, hope they keep it going. I have a whole little collection! I miss the Sears gift cards. Those were handy to pick up some inexpensive stocking stuffers (think uber-fuzzy socks or the like) without paying a dime! My mom and I used to base where we went first on who had the best freebies. SO miss that...
momlori
Target used to do gift bags and sometimes coffee and hot chocolate. That meant the most because they were thinking of us out in the cold weather
drod58
I miss the Sears gift card like for the first 50 or so people. I'm still going at 4:00am to JCPenney for my snowglobe. I have the whole collection of them.

MusicMama
KB Toys had Game Boys if you paid X. Went through the line with the family and my mom ended up with enough for all the grandkids. My daughter won a Pokemon backpack at Target that she still sometimes carries. I miss those years.

tehlilone
We'd do a round table sort of thing. Go to JC Penny and get a snow globe. In maybe get a few must have things then out quickly to Toys 'R Us and get essentials (don't remember if they had freebies) walk to Mervyns and get the free $10-50 gift card and usually a bobble head or figure. No actual shopping, just in one door then out another. Go to Sears and get their free gift card and whatever. I believe those were our main stops/freebies. My mom loved the gift cards and us kids loved the figures. I enjoyed the old navy camera giveaway a few years ago. That was awesome! It's teh lil one! Sent while on the move!! Ladywolf
Half-price books has a re-usable bag with a $5 gift card in it for the first 100 people in line and one of those bags will have a $100 gift card. I hope they continue doing this but my husband and I would snag one and then go next door to Michael's and get in line for a Godiva chocolate bar freebie. Last year the Michael's in our area did not hand out the chocolates and I didn't realize how much I would miss that freebie, haha.
