I apologize if this is a repost but I just ordered a 40 hr Tivo DVR for $19.99 from Amazon. (new condition) It is $169 with a $150 rebate!!! It also qualified for free shipping. It did not however allow for the 5% discount currently being offered from Amazon, but who cares when you are getting it for $19.99!

$150 rebate

I read your name as Brent Butt (Canandian comdian). :)

You do have to activate Tivo service at the $12.95/month rate (or Tivo plus) for at least 30 days to qualify for the $150 rebate. You must agree to one year of service, as well.

oops, guess it was too good to be true....hope my hubby doesn't kill me now:)

Not really as TiVo is worthless without the monthly or lifetime service, then it just becomes a fancy doorstop.

If you are interested in a DVR and paying for it, then this is a HOT DEAL :eyepoppin

So you think it's worth holding onto the monthly service?

I personally think it's worth it because we TiVo stuff all the time and it saves us A LOT of time. We have season passes for about 10 different shows and it always remembers to record new episodes only, it's great.

it's worth it as RossMAN said.

not only recording feature, but the fact that you can skip all those commercials, and save tons of time.. albeit your tv watching times may increase :jester:

I got my Tivo today!!!!

Not allowed to open it until Christmas though.

I got a one year agreement at 16.95 a month and my 40 hr Tivo was free. I am not good at rebates so this was the way to go for me.

We don't have Tivo, but we have Dish networks DVR which is similar, and just love it. There's nothing better than pausing live TV when someone calls at the end of a show, or setting it to automatically record things everyweek and not worry about being out of tape etc.

I was just discussing this with friend who argues that why buy/pay for a Tivo subscription when you can just torrent what you want to watch? No commercials there either, same scenario, watch when you want, pause, repeat etc.

This is a great deal!! We have dish networks DVR as well. I love it!!!! We use it all the time. It's great when the kids ask (on a school) night to stay up and watch a show -- I tell them to just record it and watch it later.

We love our TiVos. Once you start to use it, you will wonder how you ever got along without it. ;)

A friend got one a couple years ago and kept telling me how awsome it was, and I thought i'd never use it. My husband gave it to me for a Christmas gift last Christmas and now i don't know how I ever lived without it. Its the gift that keeps giving every day!

A couple of years ago, TiVo sent us some static cling stickers of their little mascot. At first, we did not know what they were were for, but then I realized that they should be placed on windows in the rooms where the units are located. That way, in there ever is a fire, the firemen know where to rescue my TiVos from. :D
