shanni Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 I decided to get my 9 year old daughter an MP3 player, I figured she would love one, I know I would have at her age. Yesterday her brother mentioned something about an MP3 player and she says to me Mom, I hope you didn't buy me one of those for Christmas, I'm only 9 and I'm not responsible enough, I know I would lose it because they are so small. I almost feel off my chair!! Guess I can give it to my neice, she really wants one badly. And I swore that was the perfect gift!
ramona1992 Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 I just bought a very small one for my 9 year old! He, however, claims to be responsible enough for an ipod. Yeah, right! He's lost no less than 10 pairs of goggles over the past two years.
uscboy Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 You have a 9 year old who is aware of how responsible and/or irresponsible she is in life? Wow. :)
treasure60 Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 I have a 14 yo stepson who told me NOT to get him one, because he can use his sister's (he grinned) and would rather have a iPod.
daworths8 Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 LOL cute! Our schools have started this manners program, the first the discussed was resposibilities. One day all my kids were fussing about their chores, my 8 year old says u all quit fussing it is our resposibility to help Mom around the house what a girl
amandasdennis Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Look, I got one for my nine year old....It's actually his second mp3 player....She'll be fine. Has she ever had a game boy or anything like that. It's a bit smaller than that, but if she could keep up with that, then she can keep up with the mp3 player. I applaud her for being respectful enough to say that though!

VonnegutFan Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Ha. Well I'm 20 and I lose everything... I mean EVERYTHING! Has anyone seen my keys? My school ID? My bus pass? My... you get the point.

labgeek Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Hmm... seems like the 9 year old who thinks their not responsible enough for a mp3 player is more likely to be responsible enough for it than the one who thinks they are responsible enough for an ipod...

Maybe I will just give it to her anyway since I already have it. She takes care of everything, I can't imagine this would be any different. She really is wise for her age!
