  1. First in line at Babies R Us - got a ton of diapers and wipes and got the baby furniture deal that gives you the $399 lifetime crib for free. HUGE set though - only the dresser/changing table would fit in my Pathfinder - went over to Home Depot and rented a truck at 6:05am. After that second trip to Babies R Us we returned the rental truck and went to Office Depot and got one of their 7" picture frames. Then Kohls cause I needed new shoes they had on sale and the wife wanted one of their snowflake necklaces - priced $375 (yeah right), on sale for $129.99, early bird price of $99.99. Later tonight we're going to Best Buy in hopes they still have one of the Harmony 550 remotes for the father in law.

    Babies R Us?

Think the free lifetime crib deal is going to be popular? (ie, line up early to get one?)

    Babies R Us?

Also, I saw online at least that the Newborn in Especially for Baby is a 96ct for $16.99, but the other sizes like size 1 are 152ct for $23.69. Are both of those going to be $10? Because that's one heck of a deal on the more expensive non-newborn boxes.

    Babies R Us?

Much thanks! :) Looks like I have a reason to go out on BF now then, cause with a baby on the way in June it certainly wasn't for big purchases for us like TVs and such. LOL.

    Babies R Us?

We're due with our first in June and I'm looking for the best deal to try to stock up ahead of time - one less thing to worry about then. Is this sale there on all sizes? Or is there somewhere else I should be looking this BF? Any suggestions on how many boxes of which sizes I should get initally?
  6. 1) Retractable cord would equal more overall weight, so I'm fine without that. 2) I have overhead lights in my house, so it's all good. 3) I got lucky with my rugs, they all work out pretty well, but with it's power I could see it being a problem for some. 4) The attachments are great, the included medium-wide with the velour is nice, the power fur thing is great for stairs. Which that and one other attachment are the only difference between the "Animal" and the regular DC07... but that attachment with the agitator is worth it IMO. Got ours for $399 because Best Buy had it on sale on their website (online only) and I got Circuit City to match it in store. They're definitely worth it.
  7. We got a Dyson animal (the ugly purple thing it is) and our two cats haven't killed it yet... they're too scared of it. Hah, in all seriousness, it tears right through everything we throw at it... absolutely love it. It's better than our previous vacuums out of the box by a long shot and if it's "never loses suction" claim holds up (we've only had it about a month) then it's the greatest thing since sliced bread IMO.
  8. You should just stop checking your mail this time of year.
  9. Ahh, screw them. I've heard the "reasons" and I'm still not convinced there's any good reason for them to kill free advertising. I fail to see their logic...
  10. And a big tip for anyone with one of the Smartparts 5.6" frames... Go to their website: http://www.smartpartsproducts.com Click on OptiPix in the upper right of the website... it's software that will go through a folder of your images and copy them to a folder on your Desktop while also converting them to make sure they work for the frame. The OptiPix software is a 20.9MB download and they ask for your email address and serial number on the back of the frame before downloading... but you don't have to use your real email address, so just use a fake one there so you don't get spam email.
  11. What one were you looking for, shopping mom? We got two of the 5.6" $69 frames at Staples. If you want one of those - which seem nice enough for good gifts... then search Ritz Camera for "Smartparts"... they sell them. They're $79.99 right now but there's a $20 off $50 for using Google checkout right now and I think it has free shipping, so it's $59.99 total. And here's the link: http://www.ritzcamera.com/product/812043131.htm
  12. Staples. I like seeing that no one else picked that one.
  13. I wish... I'd like one of those 1000 watt Honda Generators.
  14. Not a lot... cheap DVDs, maybe a digital picture frame... Would like to get one of the 32" LCD TVs, but don't think that's going to happen.
  15. They are with some of their new LCD TVs, so it's interesting that you say that about their LCD monitors. Here's a hands on user review: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1084570 To me it didn't look as bright and crisp in Best Buy as the other monitors they had, but that could also have been settings since they were all displaying the same feed and we couldn't mess with them much.
  16. I had to vote Circuit City, though with the exception of the cashier, I don't really need any help in a store. The reason CC gets my vote is one year in Atlanta they were handing out free coffee and doughnuts.
  17. Thing is, 5.1 is plenty... you can print 11x17's from good 5.1's and 8x10's from the rest without issues. The megapixel race is a myth... it's nice to have more if they're on a larger digital sensor, but when you start cramming more pixels onto the tiny sensors it just ends up degrading image quality. 5 to 6 megapixels is perfect for a small point-and-shoot camera.
  18. You have to love the people who are sure they have everything figured out. :)
  19. It's only 1440x900 resolution, but if that's enough desktop space for you, it's a good monitor. Samsung makes good LCD PC monitors. My other problem with it besides the resolution is I wanted to use it as a TV for tailgating, like I use my 17" Dell W1700 for currently. So, one a 19" isn't a big jump up, and two, the Samsung won't have the TV inputs like Component video for HDTV I believe like the Westinghouse does. Other than those two things though, that's a good price on a good monitor.
  20. I agree the 22" Westinghouse is hands down the best PC monitor deal out there this year... just wish there was a 23-24" that can do 1920x1200 on sale this year... 1050 vertical isn't enough for me.
  21. In my opinion, the 32" LCD at Best Buy, the Westinghouse, may end up online... the guy at my Best Buy yesterday pulled up the model number in their system to check and they had 0 on hand, but 2352 in their warehouse... which he said wasn't national, it was a regional warehouse number. If each regional warehouse has 2352 of those TVs, even if they serve 100 Best Buys that's 230+ for each location... so maybe the deal will end up online on BF...
  22. Please post ideas here... we all know it's getting really crazy on BF and there's threads about people cutting in line (sorry, "saving places for people"... whatever)... How could they handle this better? My idea: Hire a few employees or rent-a-cops to start at 11pm Thursday handing out hourly cards. An 11pm card, a 12am card, a 1am card, etc. One per person, no getting one for the "friend who's not here yet". As opening approaches, exchange them for tickets for 1 of each item they want. However, if you're missing say 1am through 4am, no tickets for merchandise for you. Then, combine this system with goat-herders (I call them that... the people organizing aisles like at amusement parks). Block all access to the front door with security guards except those in the goat-herders. I think this system would eliminate the 'door-crashers' at opening, it would limit people cutting in line since it wouldn't matter with the time cards, etc, etc. Anyone have any other ideas...?
  23. I've also read articles and seen links that say 50%... I suppose someone could always do the math and figure out how many pixels more there are in 1080 lines of resolution than in 480 lines, but that's not the point. If you're lucky enough to be blind and not be able to tell the difference between 1080i and 480p easily with your own eyes, then you'll be really happy with EDTV. In fact, I've read those exact sentiments on AVS.... apparently some people can't tell. I can see the difference pretty clearly. I suggest people look at both before deciding for themselves, then.
  24. Yeah, it's a PC monitor too.... nice set, sharp HD picture too, but only 17"... kind of loses it's wow factor, plus viewing outside it's kind of small for football games. Now mounted up in the corner of my gameroom it works just fine. It'd be nice to just leave it up there and get a 26" for tailgating instead.
