JBKing Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 We're at a loss this year on what to get the neighbors, we're running out of ideas! Our first year in this neighborhood we bought 2 loaves of bread and some cookies from a bakery. The second year was a tin of cookies. Last year we bought Blockbuster certificates, two 2 liter drinks, movie candy, and popcorn. What kind of gifts do you buy for your neighbors?
lennon2004 Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 I think gift certificates are always a nice idea.

The best present i could give my neighbors AND myself would be a 6 foot privacy fence between our yards, but since I can't do that till next spring/summer absolutely NOTHING
Guest all2tired Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Unless you are good friends with them, I wouldn't get anything. However, you could always give them a GC to a restaurant or a little something for their home if you know their taste

*Karen* Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 For the past 3 years I have always bought a set of Christmas ornaments at Sams or Costco's and wrapped them up and gave those out. Last year the ornament was of Disney characters or something like the Grinch.
pampam Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Any sort of home baked sweet treat is a nice gift. The woman who used to live next door always brought over the most amazingly moist, melt-in-your-mouth pound cake. I miss her and her yummy Christmas cakes. I've thought about regifting some of my neighbors with the presents that their dogs have left in my yard.
alimfp Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 We'll do home baked items. I'm just unsure of how to gift some of them and not others. We're afraid the ones we don't gift will find out and get upset.. I'd rather just gift the people we talk to though..
decafmom Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 How about a pot of soup or a pan of lasagna? Something they could eat one night shortly after you deliver it. This is something I've done in the past and it's always well received.
