sjborak Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 I waited in line for the 20" tv/dvd from walmart. I bought 2, one for us, one for my son for christmas. We set up our tv in our room last night and went to watch a dvd, and it doesn't work. It is a stupid no name tv. I called the company they told me to return it. I called walmart they said I can return it and put it towards a 180$ tv. What do you think the chances are that I can get walmart to give me a different 20" tv/dvd to replace it?
alimfp Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 More than likely Walmart will just return it and give you the money back (credit your CC if that's how you paid, but if by check, then you must wait and of course you get cash back on the spot usually). Then you can just turn around and use it for the other TV. :) Did the second TV you bought work?!
sjborak Posted November 26, 2005 Author Posted November 26, 2005 I don't know, its hidden at my parents house so my son won't see it. My dad is supposed to check it today. I think they should give me a tv like it. they didn't advertise a certain brand.
hpowers Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 I have 2 of those t.v.'s so I'm curious also about what Wal-mart did to make it right.
laffnatu Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 We bought a nonbrand name tv one BF. The sound sucked on it. We took it back and they gave our money back. But there was no other one like it. We ended up just buying another brand and were happy with it. It happens at WM.. it's a chance that you take when getting a good deal. It's also a pain in the butt.

decafmom Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 I bought the same tv. I guess I'll check it out today. We bought it for our son to take to college next year, so I hope it lasts at least that long.
ryka Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 I got one of these too. I'll have to check it out.

I live in Elyria, Ohio and went to Walmart last night and they had at least 10 of the 20" tv/dvd combo for $99. They also had the 23" for $80.
gottashop Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 same thing happened last year to me... the manual gave trouble shooting tips which fit my problem and have never had a problem again. Check the manual, it might be able to help you.
whender6189 Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 I bought one for my daughters playroom and for the money you can't beat it , it plays fine so no issues on my end and yes my walmart still has like at least 20 as of late last night.Good luck getting a new one.
Gporter34 Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 I got one of these and plugged it up this morning. It works great and has good sound and a good pic.
Cynical Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Hmm me and my gf were going to get one of these tvs for her dad but then we decided to go with a magnavox from kmart after we seen the walmart tv was off brand. Good thing I guess.
ebony0421 Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 I would take it back and either buy a different brand or go to a different store all together.
