alimfp
Do you do this? Either in your house (if you decorate with them) or on the tree or outside? We turn them off inside on the tree before we go to bed. I am unsure about leaving the ones on our house on all night. It looks so festive but I wonder how much it raises the electric bill?! FTR, we bought icicle lights this year (30', not much IMO). The fire hazard of having anything plugged in also freaks me out (paranoid? yep). What do you do?! floridasun5
My lights inside go off when we got to bed...my lights outside are on timer and are set to go off about 3-4 hours after they come in, which is usually dusk. I see no reason to leave them on all night long...like you said, just raises electric bills.
best4less
In years past, I've always shut the inside and outside lights off when I go to bed. Seeing how I don't go to bed until 2 or 3 in the morning, they are still on for a good chunk of the night. That said, neither my inside or outside lights are even up yet. Try as I might, I just can't seem to get into it this year. The lights, the decorating, the shopping- I'm just kind of numb to it Aiming to at least get the tree up today! Guest all2tired
We turn everything off inside before going to bed. We have a timer for the outside lights so they turn on at dusk and turn off either at midnioght or 1 am. That is what I change the time to LOL Hubby has it set to turn off and 10 which I think is too early so I change the timer
pampam
Because my tree always has an absurd number of lights I worry about the heat factor. Generally I'll turn them off around midnight.
Guest Frieked
Most people I know use a timer to turn them on/off automatically for the outside lights.
