LadyPhoenix
Went back to Sears to return my poor choice of a coat. Expected to receive a Gift Card instead of a cash refund (as it plainly stated on my receipt)...INSTEAD I received a cash refund which included the FACE VALUE of the $10 gift card I received @ 6am! I happily took the money right out of Sears, found and bought a better quality coat @ JcPenney! Lady Phoenix

alimfp
A lot of times they don't have the time of the hassles that GC's are, so they just do what is easiest.
happyrat
Sears really upset me when I got home after BF and read the ad for Saturday. "Extra 10% off". Now I have to go tommorow and get a pm because one of my items I bought was a 2day special and its now cheaper tommorow. The other item after 10% would have only been $4 more and I would not have had to go through the headache of waiting in line.

We are supposed to put the refund (if you have your receipt) back in the form it was paid for. So the worse case could have been a 10 GC and the rest in whatever you paid with (cash if that was so). In fact the system automatically puts it back on a CC if that is what you used without us even needing to swipe it. But if you paid part cash it probably was just quicker for them to give you all back cash. Upgrades that are coming should start recognizing split forms of payment though. LadyPhoenix
xaraan, if what you say is true, why did the receipt clearly state "all returns will be in the form of a gift card"??
lsdlsd0
Why not just pay with your credit card? They will charge the amount back onto your CC. If they don't, dispute it with your CC
