tfinch2 Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 Bait and switch means that they had no items available. Stop crying bait and switch.
wright1baby Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 Bait and switch means that they had no items available. Stop crying bait and switch. Are you sure...bait and switch means they advertise one thing and "SWITCH" it out with something else. Thus the reference to SWITCHING!
ramona1992 Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 I thought bait and switch referred to a store advertisting an item at a certain price, but only stocking 1 or none. Then when you show up they try to sell you something similar but more expensive.

Or just giving you the hard sell on a more expensive model, telling you the whole time what junk the advertised one is...

Where is the voucher for the $149..That guy was...lets just say the crowd was VERY heated about having less that 10 in stock!!!! Our Local BB only had 9! *But I got one!

saturnboy01 Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 Pretty much describes the entire Best Buy BF ad, doesn't it?I agree with your statement somewhat. On the $149 computer if I would have let them sell all there "extra" crap I would have left paying $300+.
masilke Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 My PX did that with the advertised Fox Tv Dvd Box sets. They didn't have one in store. So I pitched a fit and guess what? I got a raincheck out of it for all the Dvd's I wanted and the $10 Promo giftcard for each one. Thanks my fellow Gottadealers for keeping me informed.
DragonSlayer1500 Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Pretty much describes the entire Best Buy BF ad, doesn't it?Our Best Buy didn't have that problem. They of course tried to sell us upgrades etc. but they delivered on at least what the ad promised. Usually more.
