lovebears65 Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 Made bigger crowds. I am selfish and wish a lot didnt know but I know its more profitable for the owners and am glad for them..
Guest all2tired Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 ditto even though my area doesn't get flooded with ppl
bassmount Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 Yep, I agree. This site and the other BF site's meda coverage as well as the "leak" that was on the news of Wal-Mart's laptop prices made things very crowded here. Most of the people I talked to either lurked here, or on other deal/BF sites and most had heard the covereage in our area of the NPR report on the Wal-Mart laptop. They knew they probably could not get the Wal-Mart one, so they looked really hard at the ads this time around to find another place to get a good deal.
floridasun5 Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 I totally agree! While I think its great that the publicity helps out Brad and Ross so that they can continue to keep the site up and give us the ads early each year, the publicity has definitely increased lines this year. Last year, I got to Best Buy at 2:30 and was about 30th in line. This year, we got there right before 11:30 and there were already at least 100 people there. Needless to say, I didnt wait. I do really enjoy BF...but I draw the line at camping out all night for things.
tfinch2 Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 It's fun and all to plan BF and look at the ads early, but the ads came out Thursday morning. People still had a whole day to plan their BF tactics. BF is just as crazy as it was before the internet.
mugs Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 You know, you all should stick around and see the kinds of deals you can get year-round. :) Black Friday is not the only day of the year to get killer deals.
