  1. I may be odd this year, but I am after a video rocker, a Duo stick for my son's PSP and a few other small items. Nothing big this year. Last year it was a PC and that was almost a nightmare. LOL
  2. You are kidding right? I was going to order myself the Enamel Navy DS Lite for Christmas. Oh and I pre-ordered my Wii last month from our Gamestop. I was #2 on the list.
  3. I agree with Marcster. Office Depot was PAINFULLY slow on all of the rebates from the computer they had last BF. We did not get our final one in until March or April and that was the big one.
  4. It doesn't matter if it spells out "such and such. com" or not, there are ways to spell out something and then it go someplace else. Try clicking my like here to see an example... http://www.paypal.com If you are in doubt, NEVER click a link AT ALL. Rt click on it and view the properties of the link. 9 times out of 10 it will spell out a legit site, only to send you to another site where the phishing will happen.
  5. I was just about to tell you not to loose hope. I ordered the desktop and got an email this AM too. All of ours has shipped and estimated to be here on Saturday.
  6. I really think Wal-mart's down falls are regional and do follow what the area around it is tolerant of. My DH's aunt has been at Wal-Mart for around 11-12 years and has never broke over $14.00 an hour. In fact she was making so little, that she qualified for a Habitat house. In her county, in order to qualify, you could not make more than 16,000.00 (when they built the house in 1996, now they allow you 18,000.00) a year as a single parent. So, that put her wages at a little under $8.00, 9 years ago, when they built the house. What makes that bad even for that time was she had already been at Wal-Mart for 2- 21/2 years when they built the house. Now with all of that said, working for Wal-mart is better than not working at all. She is thankful for the job and shows up every day. She is a good employee and does like it. I personally will not go to Wal-Mart unless I have no other recourse and not because of working practices or labor laws. I won't shop there because you "get what you pay for." If you buy cheap, odds are you are going to get a cheaply made product. I don't buy things from Target that I want to last either, or K-mart for that matter. I will occationally shop for groceries at Target or Wal-mart, but for the most part, I don't shop in any of the "discount" mega stores if I want something to last.
  7. Well let see what do I want for Christmas? Here is the list I gave DH. LOL New Diana Gabaldon book: A Breath of Snow and Ashes Couple pairs of new sweatpants Couple of L/S T-shirts to match the sweats Couple pair of new slipper scuffs Pink UNC shirt New can opener (B&D Gizmo) ** Nintendo DS (Pink or Titanium)** **Animal Crossing for DS** ** Zoo Tycoon for DS** (Yes, in fact I am a kid at heart and an avid gamer. LOL)
  8. Why not take it to a camera store and see how much it would cost to fix it? If it isn't too much, then you still have your camera and didn't mess up your deal too much.

Try to find preplayed in EB Games B&M, because sometimes if you are nice to the employee they will run their EBsaver card for you, which will take an additional 10% off pre played games. This way you won't have to buy the "membership." Spyro is an "older" game, so the preplayed price is lower. I've only had one problem with a preplayed game and it was because of our XBOX, not the disk itself. We have both a GC and XBOX. Spyro Preplayed (14.99) http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/228638.asp Mario Kart's price is pretty good, unless you can luck up and find a PP copy in the store. It is running @29.99 on EB online and is OOS.

  13. We left at 2:00 AM and were home around 8:45 AM.
  14. I didn't do much clothes shopping this time since I did a lot before BF. BUT we "adopted" a family close to my In Laws for Christmas this year instead of doing an "angel tree" card. This was my first time I have shopped for a little girl. We have two boys and I usually hit the Old Navy sales them throughout the year. I also had to pick up a couple of hoodies and some misc clothing for our friends in Germany so I could get their box out this week. For who I had to buy for I thought these were good deals... JCPenney: 2 tops and 2 pairs of pants for 30.00 (for the little girl. She is a 9) 3 pair of thick men's sweats for 30.00 (for DH) Areopostal: 3 hoodies at $15.00 each (for a my "spare children" and our German friend) 2 packs of socks for 12.00 (for my son who just had to buy something last night. LOL) Not the best deals, but I did avoid most crowds and the whole Areopostal store was 50% off and still had a great selection. I did try to shop for everyone at Old Navy during BF morning sales and that place was a MAD HOUSE! So, we went back out last night and did the "loose thread" shopping.
  15. I did. Was first in line there and it was a wonderful experience. Got what I needed, including the computer order and was out in 20 minutes or less.
  16. Yep, I agree. This site and the other BF site's meda coverage as well as the "leak" that was on the news of Wal-Mart's laptop prices made things very crowded here. Most of the people I talked to either lurked here, or on other deal/BF sites and most had heard the covereage in our area of the NPR report on the Wal-Mart laptop. They knew they probably could not get the Wal-Mart one, so they looked really hard at the ads this time around to find another place to get a good deal.
  17. Mine is not super impressive, but I did get some of what I wanted. I found that there were crowds around not seen in the past. I guess it was all of the media coverage this year (the WM ad leak on the news, etc.). I got the HP Pavillion at OD except we did add some things to it. Final price shipped after rebates (and tax) will be $283.99 which is still not to bad for a desktop for the boys. We went ahead and upgraded the RAM to 512 and added the combo drive. We will pick up a network card and a few PC games later on towards Christmas. I also was able to get the MVC 210c All-in-One for my Dad which will be 59.99 AR while at OD.
  18. BB Desktop. Even in our small community, they were already to the corner of the building at 2:30 AM. My DH now believes me that we have to camp out if we want something from BB on BF. LOL We only had the minimum on both the laptops and Desktops, so a lot of people were SOL this AM. We left at about 3:00 after a BB employee walked by and my DH asked him if they had enough desktops and/or laptops to cover all of the people already there and he said "Nope. if you are not up there (pointed to the front door) you won't get one. We only got the 20 each listed in the paper." So, we hopped into our warm truck and went to OD.

  20. Thanks a bunch and yes, good idea. I'll print them up just before I leave to go to BB or OD (haven't made up my mind where my first stop will be yet, but both are close to our Wal-Mart. )
  21. I find the closer we get to BF, the more I am on here. It is exciting isn't it?
  22. Didn't want it to get lost. Can anyone answer it for me? Sorry about the additional post, but I'm just curious about which ad they would have to honor. Here is what I posted in the other thread. We got the print ad (amazing as we usually don't get them) and our prices in the print add were the $488 each. Now I have a question, if I print the online ad off and then do a "print screen" showing that it is my store that they are showing those prices for, does Wal-Mart have to honor it? I did not want this PC, BUT since I am anti Wal-Mart, I was thinking of spreading some "holiday cheer" by passing out copies of the online ad and print screen to those waiting in line thinking that they are getting the PCs for $488.
  23. I'm still undecided. It will either be BB or OD depending on what the print ads say. (Yes, I know that OD has been a real PITA this year, but then again last year they all were doing the stupid DMCA thing and we all still went to them.)
