momee2twins Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 DH Would love one of the 65 inch for $688. Enough that he will figure a way to schlep it home during an 15 hour drive. How long would I have to go camp for one of the big ones? Any chance it'll go online?
Angelseyes28 Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 I have never gotten one on bf so I'm no help. I got tickled when I read your post though because my hubby wants that same tv!.......he got laid off a week ago though so no tv for him LOL
peppysfireball Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 Our walmart always has plenty left but I bought ours at sears the week before cheaper. My husband has been off since august, but I had a big xmas club and we get a big unemployment check. Ive been selling crochet owl hats and have made over 500 doing that. My husband is supposed to go back to work tomorrow hopefully

heffer569 Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 Also I see that Walmart also carries the tv that's in the Sams ad. How would I go about price matching a tv I can't exactly carry that thing to the customer service desk.
momee2twins Posted November 11, 2012 Author Posted November 11, 2012 it may be a 60, i just was working off the screen with DH wiggling the mouse around all jumpy like a 6 year old on halloween candy

heffer569 Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Walmart won't price match Sam's Club. When you read under their website who they will and won't price match it doesn't say anything about not price matching SAMs Club
angelicswtnss Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 When you read under their website who they will and won't price match it doesn't say anything about not price matching SAMs ClubI might be wrong but I think Walmart and Sams Club are technically the same company. They won't price match themselves.

How long would I have to go camp for one of the big ones? Any chance it'll go online? It's a 60" Vizio and it's normally $1k. Ignoring the risk of coming home empty handed, what does it cost you to drive 15 hours each way in a vehicle that will transport a 65" set? Get a Discover card if you do not have one. The 5% cashback makes the cost $950. I can't imagine any scenario where driving 30 hours is not going to cost you $250. Even better, get the 60" Viera Plasma for $900 and spend Thanksgiving watching football.

I would go check out the size of one of these boxes and see if it will fit in the car/truck If it won't, maybe find someone at your house who will buy and transport it home for you

I would order it online and have them deliver it to my door.
len_mullen Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 OK. I read it differently. Agree about pre-measuring. I'd still get the Viera. I don't want to start a plasma/lcd/1080p/720p holy war, but the Vieras look NICE.

How long would I have to go camp for one of the big ones? Any chance it'll go online?Normally i would say with the bigger tv's not really a need to camp. This one might be an exception though on the count of being such a good deal and people talking about it that usually dont go for black friday things. But I would give yourself at least a couple hours head start or at least do some calls to the store or walk through see if anyone is inline. I have that tv and it is nothing short of gorgeous. The only thing if you are hauling it that far and i dont know where you live make sure you let the tv warm up to room temperature before plugging in.

momee2twins Posted November 12, 2012 Author Posted November 12, 2012 We'll be away visiting family and I would rather order online & have it delivered (or pick up at our store when we get home, only 3 minutes from our house to walmart), but its tempting to schlep it for $300 savings. Its the one we've been planning on buying as we have other vzio tvs and they work great. It'll fit (have a trailblazer), but would be tight with 3 kids and all the other nonsense that comes with a trip to grandparents' house with the only grandkids in the family. (think fao schwartz on wheels). I appreciate all the advice though!
Svuroo Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 It's hard to guess on line size because Black Friday's starting earlier than ever. Plus, as always, time spent in line will need to be significantly higher if you live in a warm climate. BB lines start very early in places like Florida. Sub-zero temperature? Not so long but extra misery.
bamaboundmommy Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Last year we went to 2 different Walmarts. We arrived at the first one about 8:30 when things were crazy. We were at the second one around 2 am and that store was so quiet and there were tv's EVERYWHERE! I have to say I was shocked that there were so many left at that time.
