  1. I love this gift! I had a friend 2 years ago give me a nice bottle of wine and a pretty girly type wine glass.
  2. Kinda made me chuckle to myself. My in-laws are the most self centered people I have ever met. DH's step-mom has money and we are just normal middle class. We see them maybe 6 times a year which is 6 times to many in my book. We have been married 19 years. In the 18 years that we have been married during Christmas time, not once have they ever liked what we gave them. Every year, we give great thought in what to give them and every year they roll their eyes and make snide comments that hurt. You would think by now my feelings wouldn't be hurt......unfortunately this would be wrong. This year we are giving my DH's Dad a jacket for the college our son will be going to in the fall and his step-mother a Vera Bradley purse. We have senior pictures and a joint gift certificate too. Again, they will hate this. They use to hate our children but now "enjoy" them only because they excel in school and extra curricular activities. They can brag...if they were average students, I'm sure they would still have the same feelings for them. Shoot, step-mom was so hateful when our daughter was a toddler and on a feeding tube and they thought she had Cystic Fibrosis that she said maybe it had ben better off if she had never been born. Again.....GRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Forgive me for ranting. I'm a happy go lucky person, but they just make me nuts! :-/
  3. Hollister, Aeropostale, Walmart (As of last night added to my list for a TV), Amazon(Buying 1 TV BUT will be buying 2 if I can't get the other one from Walmart). My list is MUCH smaller this year because we are doing a Disney trip as a family gift. Only doing TV's because son will be leaving for college this summer and his flat screen tv died and daughter's TV is an old tiny set we have had forever.

    Holister

Has anyone heard about Hollister yet? I'm trying to finish up my game plan, but I'm having a tough time waiting for my final store to post their sale. ;-)
  5. I bet I drink no more than a glass of wine a month. Pretty sure that while my in-laws are here there will be a few bottles of wine consumed lol! I warned my hubby that if my in-laws misbehave Thursday that I may have to go into work and work in my classroom for a bit.
  6. Not doing as much BF shopping as we usually do. Between doing less shopping because of our Disney trip and not being willing to shop at the early hours, I will be spending much less than normal on this day. I am hoping for a great sale at Hollister. Will also be heading to Aero for a few things too. We usually spend around a 1000.00 plus every year on this day. This year I plan to spend no more than 300.00 this day. Maybe even less if I can hit some great deals! No Target, Kohls, or Walmart this year. Only other place that will get my money that day is Starbucks.

    Holister

I really wish that they would hurry up and post their sale. I'm not doing what we normally do this year since we are taking a Disney trip as everyone's big present. I'm hoping to be able to stretch what I do plan on spending otherwise.
  8. I'm glad I'm not the only one who is dreading the holidays. My husband's father and step-mother are coming up to our house from Thanksgiving Day until Sunday night. They are horrible and very cruel and I am already on edge and they haven't even arrived. They invited themselves up after having a temper tantrum on the phone because they were angry about our Christmas plans. My dear husband was screamed at over the phone and then was told we were not welcome to stop at their house on our way back from Disney. (His folks are angry that we are going to Disney with his aunt and cousin that they hate) Then they felt guilty several days later and asked if they could come up. They are unkind to all of us.It's very hard for me to bite my tongue sometimes. I normally love the holidays but I am feeling so blue right now and the holidays haven't even arrived yet. I really could just cry.
  9. I'm refusing to give up my Thanksgiving this year to stand in line. Won't be heading out until well after midnight this year.
  10. One of the easiest recipes that my family LOVES is chocolate mint covered Oreo's. You take Andes Mint baking chips and melt them in the microwave. It takes me about 1:45 to melt the chocolate. Then dip Oreo into chocolate and make sure you have it covered completely. Place onto a wax paper covered cookie sheet. You may place sprinkles onto the cookie. Just make sure you do this step quickly. These are to die for!
  11. Last year we went to 2 different Walmarts. We arrived at the first one about 8:30 when things were crazy. We were at the second one around 2 am and that store was so quiet and there were tv's EVERYWHERE! I have to say I was shocked that there were so many left at that time.
