kiwi2121
....Ok, i am stuck in a rut here.! Sadly enough , I cant make it to the USA to shop on BF :( However, I can get there on Saturday. I am thinking , is it better to just head down to the usa this weekend and grab some stuff (even though i wont get it at the lowest prices..) or wait until the Sat after BF...when things may be gone /picked over. I know doorbusters are usually gone, but what about the other deals (I am just picturing a store with nothing left)..will it be worth the drive to go to the USA this weekend..or the Sat after BF???? if u got thru all this..THANKS. ReillyCheyenne
You can always try and get the stuff online on BF like everyone is talking about. I would also come down on Saturday because a lot of the stores are having 2 day sales and it might not be all gone. I know from expierence working at ToysRUs that the 2 day sale we still have things left and if we don't we usually write rainchecks on the 2 day sale stuff. akcyr
You are going to find better deals in the US vs Canada even if you go this weekend. No, you won't get those fabulous doorbusters that happen a week from now. Having come here from Canada 6 years ago and traveling back at least twice a year I have come to learn a couple of things. First your taxes will be 1/2 what you would pay. Second there is a much larger selection of items such as clothes, etc. I can tell you for sure that on large ticket items you will notice a large difference. For instance we bought a Burberry handbag for $550 here regular price. That same handbag in Canada was over $800 plus 15%. Even with the exchange there is no competing. Not sure where you will be headed to shop but I bet if you are going to the Niagara Outlet shops in Niagara NY and then off to the Galleria Mall in Buffalo then you will definately get some deals. Alot of the major department stores Macy's, Lord & Taylor will definately be having sales this weekend.
kiwi2121
YUP, we are coming from Canada to do some shopping! we usually make our way to the Sarnia Casino first...lol..to earn a little spending money! ahhaha (last time i won 400!) but i agree "First your taxes will be 1/2 what you would pay. Second there is a much larger selection of items such as clothes, etc! so very true just not having ever experienced a BF before , I wasnt sure what the day after sales would be like...or if there would be anything left over on Sat. thanks. alimfp
What exactly will you be shopping for? Clothes, electronics, etc? I'd buy it now and pricematch the Saturday after BF (make sure the store you are buying from will let you PM, or return/re-buy).
akcyr
If you go the Sat after BF there should not be too much of a shortage of items. The doorbusters will be long gone. I would also guess CD's and DVD's and perhaps some video game will be in short supply but all in all you will not find the stores empty. Seeing as some sales last BF and the Sat. You would probably still get alot of good deals on that Sat that would not be happening this weekend.
ebony0421
I think you may find some bargains, but it depends on what you are looking for. Maybe you can get some good deals online or have someone get some stuff for you.
