alimfp Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 I need to buy a gift a for a friend, it needs to be around $20 on average. She likes scrapbooking stuff (she works for Creative Memories; so she has quite a bit already I imagine) if that helps. Any ideas? I plan on sending her homemade cookies, but I need a gift as well. Anything that is nice that you'd appreciate (something general)? Or any scrapbooking gift ideas?
Jenniferharrison82 Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 I scrapbook and sometimes it is hard for people to buy that kind of stuff for me. However a couple of weeks ago I came across these gelly roll pens for scrapbooking. They are called glaze pens, the come in all different colors and are a sort of 'no mess' embossing pen. I got a ten pack for about 8 bucks. A pack of those along with something else might make a good gift. Personally I would enjoy it :). You can never have too much scrapbooking supplies :). I hope that helped...
shopping mom Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Depending on how she prints her pictures she might appreciate photo paper or gift card to her favorite place to get them printed. I would want those pens too.
berry Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 A Christmas sweatshirt or Christmas socks (It's a woman's answer to the tie) A $4.88 coffee machine from Walmart, favored coffee and a Christmas mug a gift certificate to Starbucks to go with the cookies Yankle Candles (look for the $10 off $25 coupon) Bath and Body Works bubble bath and a bottle of wine
SuperMommy Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 You could check http://www.abcdistributing.com. They have little scissors that cute cute edges and have paper crimpers, and other things like that which are good for scrapbooking. Or you could get her a GC to a scrapbooking store.
JanaBanana Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 A gift card to a local scrapbooking store :)
Princess7915 Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 If you have a Build a Bear workshop (or you can do it online now) they make a scrapbooking outfit! You could do a small bear with the scrappers outfit and I bet she would LOVE it. It's something she won't have and I bet she'll show all her friends.
cami_reardon Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 What about making her a nice gift basket of girly things (like lotion and stuff which you can get free with coupons at BBW most of the time) then putting a GC to her favorite store in there?

msomnipotent Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 I like the Build-A-Bear idea. I was in there recently and the prices were a lot lower than what I expected. I'm going to take my daughter there for her first birthday (Feb 28th! how time flies!). I would also forget about any scrapbooking things. She can get whatever she wants at a discount if she already works at a scrapbooking store. You can get a nice bottle of champagne (ok, sparkling wine) or a really nice bottle of wine for under $20. You might even be able to get a pair of champagne flutes or wine goblets on sale to go with the bottle. Hand lotions and smelly soaps are always nice. Or gourmet, organic, fair trade, only harvested on a sunny day, carried by a non-whipped donkey, blah blah blah pound of coffee or tea with some mugs would be nice. Or a gift certificate for a manicure at a local salon.
mrsbmb Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 Movie tickets are always nice to get. Movies are so expencive these days the tickets make you not mind going. I like the coffee coupon idea too. I go every day so when i get them i love it. kathy
aeraen Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 I would stay away from the scrapbooking if she works at the store... she can likely buy whatever she wants at a discount, and you are likely to only duplicate whatever she already has. Of course, the idea of an inexpensive little gift basket with a gift certificate for her own store is a good one. Then, when she sees a good deal or a new and unique item, she can go for it. I also like the movie passes. I got those for my teenage neice this year. I also went to the manager of the theatre and got some popcorn boxes (free!). I am going to put some filler paper in those, a package of junior mints, jujubees and twizzlers in it along with the movie passes. Then I will wrap the whole thing. My teenage daughter liked the idea so much, she is doing the same thing for her friends.
