I have four nephews the first two have each broken one and the youngest two are getting their first for X-Mas. If I was you and I could afford it I would buy the most expensive one if you want them to last for a while, but usually the kids will use them a total of ten times and then it's of to goodwill they go.

Penneys has a little Quad runner for $49.99 right now in their Christmas Catalog. It comes in boys and girls models. I ordered it this week for my almost 3 year old, but am still looking at getting the Jeep on BF at Walmart for him and canceling that order. The Penneys order is backordered until 12/01 right now. And there was a code for free shipping if you ordered $75.00 when I ordered it, so I ordered the helmet and something else to make the difference. Everything was backordered, which was funny, but nothing was needed until Christmas anyway, so that is okay.

hope that helps.

I just bought a Barbie Jammin' Jeep at Toyrsus last week. They are usually $225, and are on sale for $199 through 11-23-05. But I got if for around $130. How did I do this? About a month ago I got a 20% off one item card in the mail for Toysrus Christmas season. Then I used a coupon for a free $10 gift card with a purchase of $75 or more. And finally, they have a $20 mail-in-rebate (see Toysrus Big Book of Toys for info), you just ask for it when you checkout. So, $199 - 20% = $160 - $20 = $140 - $10 gift card = $130. Pretty good deal if you want a bigger two-seater vehicle.

I second the suggestion to skip the Power Wheels. IMO, they're a waste. If it were me, I'd buy something like this -

Actually looks really cool. Any of them would be on the cheap side of a power wheels. The power wheels don't go that fast. They don't help with coordination or strength. And they break. But I'm biased. I wouldn't buy power wheels for any of my kids. We were lucky, when I was 1 I was given a Murray fire truck. It lives in my living room, and that steel behemoth is what my kids rammed into walls. :egg:
