  1. I price matched an online item yesterday (It was from Toysrus). When I asked the sales associate about price matching something online, she knew nothing about this policy. She told me they don't do it. She sent me to customer service and once again the associate there said the same thing. Once I insisted that this was true, she looked at their policy (which is sitting out on the customer service counter) and sure enough there it was. She went ahead and price matched the item. Looks like many of the employees don't know about this, so you have to be insistent. And more than likely you'll have to go to customer service to do online price matching.
  2. Went to Kmart this morning and they had a sign up at 5:45 am that said all the ds lites were sold out and they weren't issuing rainchecks. The worker said Nintendo wouldn't replenish their stock and won't honor the sale price raincheck. Many people very angry, seems like false advertising. Oh, and the video camera was also sold out per the manager. Is Kmart in trouble of going under?
  3. I ordered this when it first went on sale on 12-11-07 and I just received it today. We put it together and it is darling! It seems very sturdy. My little 4-yr. old is going to love it.
  4. Walmart has the Videonow Color for $25 during it's doorbuster sale on black friday. I just found it online at Toysrus/Amazon.com for $24.99 for the Pearl white color. If you buy $49 worth of stuff, you can get free shipping. I also found it at my local Toysrus in more than the white color, also for $24.99. It will play not only the Videonow discs, but also the Videonow Jr. discs. A great deal for those of you planning to pick it up at Walmart on Black Friday!
  5. I just bought a Barbie Jammin' Jeep at Toyrsus last week. They are usually $225, and are on sale for $199 through 11-23-05. But I got if for around $130. How did I do this? About a month ago I got a 20% off one item card in the mail for Toysrus Christmas season. Then I used a coupon for a free $10 gift card with a purchase of $75 or more. And finally, they have a $20 mail-in-rebate (see Toysrus Big Book of Toys for info), you just ask for it when you checkout. So, $199 - 20% = $160 - $20 = $140 - $10 gift card = $130. Pretty good deal if you want a bigger two-seater vehicle.
  6. I've heard that Wal-Mart sells alot of their toys at a loss, to get people into their store (don't know if that is true). But if it is, it would be really hard to compete against that. With the price-matching, I think it is a mistake for TRU not to do it, not because they will lose a sale on a toy they will make no profit on, but because they will get more customers in their store that can purchase other items. Thats the benefit to PM items, hopefully the customer will shop for other things in your store.
  7. For those of you with questions about GBA or GBA SP, just want to clue you in that a new game system (Nintendo DS) will be coming out on Sunday. It will play all old GBA games and will have two screens. The downside is that it will cost about $150. But you might want to consider it if you want the newest system. By the way, you don't play the games on both screens at one time, one has the game and the other has a map with your position (Ex. if it were a racing game, where you are on the course). But the bottom screen will kind of be like a PDA - it has a touch screen that works with either a stylus or your finger.
  8. I thought it was ridiculous too, and when I was about to let it go, she let go first. I didn't want to fight over a body pillow. However, I did give her a few choice words, as did the employee. But it didn't seem to faze her, she was just rabid!
  9. About 7 years ago, I was at Mervyns trying to get a body pillow that was on sale. Some of them were a solid color and some of them had prints, obviously the prints were the most popular. There was a big crowd around the employee that was handing them out of boxes from the back and you couldn't pick the color you wanted, just take what she handed you. Well, when she handed me a cute one with a print another lady came over and started trying to rip it out of my hands. It was like a tug-a-war. The employee yelled at this lady and she finally let go. For gosh sakes, it was only a body pillow!
  10. I was at Toysrus yesterday and got the Disney Princess Spin and Suprise Castle for $19.97 - it was already marked down. Hmmm. It might be worth checking out some of the items to see if they are already marked down right now. Of course, it wasn't a door buster item.
