byond Posted November 12, 2005 Author Posted November 12, 2005 probably give him $50, depends on how long he has to stay, maybe pay him by the hr! He hasn't asked for anything but hes doing me a huge favorite, so I'm gonna pay him

heavenlysshine Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Yup, y'all are officially as nuts as me. ~H~
jewood Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 There are professional or semi-professional line-holders out there. In the Twin Cities, MN, the going rate is $10/hr. Many of them are retired or high school students.
ebony0421 Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 I do'nt know who came up with the idea, but:clapping: . That is a good way to make some money, especially if you weren't going anything anyway.
whafs8 Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 That is cool. I wish I could find one in my area.
Princess7915 Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Sounds like a great idea, but be careful!!! A few years ago we were in line at Walmart at 10am the morning BEFORE the PS2 came out at midnight. We had some trouble with people in the back of the line (that obviously showed up too late to get the item). Anytime someone stepped out of line to go to the bathroom or ask a line neighbor to hold a spot while they walked around for a minute the late-commers made a big fuss about letting them back in line. I wish you luck with your save-a-spot buddies!!!
happyrat Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 I have often thought of walking up and down the line with a cooler of cokes and candy bars for sell. Or maybe some coffee. Anyone think it might work or be profitable?
RossMAN Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 I have often thought of walking up and down the line with a cooler of cokes and candy bars for sell. Or maybe some coffee. Anyone think it might work or be profitable?Hot coffee, hot chocolate, donuts and bagels you could easily make $100.
bethc24 Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 On the same lines of renting a kid, will the stores give a kid a voucher? I know some stores say one ticket per household, but my niece wants a laptop (she's 12) and I want one, and she's willing to stand in line with me...but my sister isn't...thoughts?

2apples Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Some people will go to great links to make money and save money.
mom04 Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 The kids come in handy !! I have 3 teen girls( 16/17/18) that are going to help me this year,it's to hard being in two places at once ! I have "broke" them in for BF...lol.... They are hooked !!
Mommie2one Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Thats a great idea! Of course my one neighbor has a 17 yr old son. Wonder if he would help me out? $ and offer of food afterwards. Great idea!
mom04 Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Kids and $$$ go hand in hand *smirk *- you mention $ and their usually willing to help- especially if it's an easy task !
Guest DigDoug Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 I have often thought of walking up and down the line with a cooler of cokes and candy bars for sell. Or maybe some coffee. Anyone think it might work or be profitable?Seems tacky to me.
gisellerol Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 THE COFFE WOULD DEFINITELY SELL AND TAKE IT FROM SOMEONE WHO STANDS THERE FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED
byond Posted November 13, 2005 Author Posted November 13, 2005 Beth, there's no way they can refuse to give voucher to anyone, the ad says 1 per household, nothing about age limit. If they're able to pay by their self, like older than say 9? I'd think refusing would violate some kind of law or something. BUt my rent a kid is 16, though my son is going with me later on & he's 12
eve Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Seems tacky to me.might be and i'm not doing itBUT SHE COULD make lots of :2dollar: :2dollar: :2dollar: :2dollar:
