Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2012

I went to Target today to pick up prescriptions. The only stuff on clearance was frozen fish, frozen chicken and dairy products. Most of it was 50% off and not expiring soon. Musical instruments which were 70% off are now 50% off:confused:

found some 70% off stuff in the furniture dept. there was a little kid's pink chair, both brown & white nightstands, and a Fieldcrest Armoire.

didn't buy so I'm not sure of the exact prices but I think the chair & nightstands were around $23 and the armoire was around $41.

I was at Target yesterday. All the Kindles still full price :( I wonder if they will stop selling the Nook too?

I have read they are going to put them in the Sunday's Ad, so probably a very small chance you see these get to 50-70%. Ours probably don't have many anyway.

Yeah. I'd be shocked if there were any left past 30%, and probably few past 15%. They are popular in the first place, and there is no other way to get a discount on them.

So, Target's new try at branding involves these little "shops" in various departments. The first one I saw was the Candy Shoppe. I had to laugh, though, they have a small jar full of Bit O Honey for $4.99. The same Bit O Honey that comes in bags for $1 in the Dollar Spot. And $4.99 for a jar of gumballs that cost $2 in the candy aisle in a bag. Those are some pretty pricey plastic jars!!

Oh that is funny, don't they think people are going to catch onto that

I remember the mall had a store with all different candies in jars and they were like $5-$8 for a quarter pound  I was wondering how many people bought M&Ms for $25 a pound, lol. Basically the same concept. What is the saying "There is a sucker born every minute" LOL

Yeah Target clearance is not what it was. I remember just going for the juice boxes, what a steal they were.

Yep. Unfortunately, they seem to have gotten a better handle on the whole Just In Time ordering thing, so they don't have so much clearance. On the other hand, it seems like they have a lot more Out of Stock merchandise than they used to, and without all of us in the store every day checking for clearance, their overall sales are down, causing their financials to be less great this year. Have to wonder if they would do better under the old system.... ;-)

I agree. Target clearance has changed. My stores salvage a lot quicker now. We have a regional discount store(Marc's) that buys target clearance for their closeout section. It is like a mini target in there now.

I got Missoni towels for $3.99 each two weeks ago. It's fun but sometimes the price at Marc's is more than it would have been at 70% at target. But the upside is that I would never have found those towels at target. Seeing as the Missoni stuff sold out so quickly here, I'm wondering if they found them in the warehouse somewhere.

Picked up a backpack for my niece. There was Ink'd and Hiraku (sp?) backpacks and bookbags for 50% off at $14.XX. Scanned 50% off but tagged 30% off. Full endcap in menswear.

These were 70 off at my target. I think they were 7 and change.

Lots of grocery items marked down (15% - 30%). These are all that I picked up:

###Motts Light Apple Juice 64 oz was 2.49 now 2.11

###Market Pantry various cranberry juices (light and regular) 64 oz was 2.44 now 2.04

If you had coupons, would be a good deal. I didn't, but needed them regardless.

Picked up a Samsung 40" TV yesterday. Regular price is $699.99 and got it for $175.04 (says 70 on the tag, but is closer to 75% off). It was only 15% off on Saturday and 2 days later had dropped straight to 75. Tag number is 008 09 1164.
