sanam Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I would like to know the best time to avoid rush outside the malls by standing in line. wanted to know after the stores open do they still have queues lined up outside to make sure the store is not overcrowded.or is it once the store opens its open for all and no queues outside to get into that particular store....
VonnegutFan Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I know that my local Best Buy has beefed up security and does not allow a run at the door. I think they allow about fifty in first, then close the door, another fifty, etc.
sanam Posted November 10, 2005 Author Posted November 10, 2005 any idea about jc penny, macy's ,walmart....
bayhaysay Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I would say if you wanted to avoid the rush..........you might want to stay in bed. Haha!! Really, our Walmart is open 24 hours so we'll be standing inside by the pallets, no rush there. JCPenny's- maybe you could find an alternate door, but then you might not get the free snowglobe. I heard that some people went in an alternate door at Sears last year and they didn't get the $10 GC and they were still handing them out to the people that were "rushing" the main entry.
love2beurwifey Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I hate the rush but I am going to be standing in line at WalMart
sanam Posted November 10, 2005 Author Posted November 10, 2005 hmmm i guess i just need to be there to find out what really happens as this will be my first time shopping on BF so i really dont know what to expect.... its gonna be fun i am sure..
gisellerol Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 TRULY SAID IF YOU DONT WANT THE RUSH STAY HOME!!!!!!!!
pnosker Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I wait outside starting at 10:30 Thanksgiving night, people start showing up at around 11:00.
bayhaysay Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I wait outside starting at 10:30 Thanksgiving night, people start showing up at around 11:00.What store are you at? That's REALLY early!
sanam Posted November 10, 2005 Author Posted November 10, 2005 anybody knows about jc penny queues.. how are they?
SuperMommy Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I'm with everyone else, if you want to avoid the rush stay home!! lol In my experience in most stores once the doors open it's a free for all!!!
ebony0421 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 At some stores "the rush" is sort of like watching the N.Y.C Marathon. If there is something you want, chances are someone else wants it also. You just have to be out there early for all of the stores that you mentioned. Oh and since this is your first bf, please make sure to wear comfortable clothes and SHOES.
sanam Posted November 10, 2005 Author Posted November 10, 2005 thanks a ton for the ideas , yes comfortable shoes are definately on my list of clothing... have fun with yr shopping list..

erh12275 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 not a bad idea.. does payless go on sale on BF?I am gonna get my shoes now so they are broke in. I think payless does do something but it's probably like b1g1 half off because I have never shopped there before...and if it was a GOOD sale I would have....lol.
Mommie2one Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I was just told to go super early! I plan to leave the house this year by 1:30am. If anything, I'll sit in my car, but want to be ready
cpg117cg Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I no longer need to buy the toys and don't buy electronics so for the most part I don't get involved with the rush to get one of few of anything. My daughter and I love the excitement of the day and usually go to Penneys where I buy her some clothes. For us we go early so we can get a decent parking spot so we can stash the bags in the trunk without a major hike through the parking lot. The mall we go to doesn't have a Best Buy or Circuit City so we can get there a few minutes before opening and get a decent spot. I have already done most of my shopping online because they are not the typical things you find on the BF ads.
RossMAN Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 To avoid the rush you have two choices:Visit the store after 11AM. Bad news is you will miss the door buster specials.Shop online using your GottaDeal.com Shopping List and support this great web site!
eve Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 i really don't think you can enjoy bf and not have the rush
treasures4me Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Wal Mart here is AWFUL on Black Friday. I went twice and decided it wasn't worth it. People can be pretty mean just to grab a deal. And one year at Target it was so bad the stock people had to start throwing products into the crowd.. My Christmas stuff is on layaway right now..
sanam Posted November 10, 2005 Author Posted November 10, 2005 yeah some people can get really nasty.. it all depends on your experience. i hope my 1st experience is good and i dont meet any nasty people on such a great day !!
ravi7791 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Have your teenager sneek in and grab all he can and make him wait.
