vijmas Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Skip the Coin-Counting Fee at Select Coinstar Centers and Get a Gift Card or eCertificate http://coinstar.com/us/WebDocs/A1-0-3-1
Guest Frieked Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 I think I saw a commercial for that on TV... I'll have to take my big cup o change over there when I get a chance. I did a search and there are no machines in my area that do the giftcards... but there are a couple that will do eCertificates for amazon.com
ebony0421 Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 I am always trying to find a place to dump my change. I think this is another gift I have taken care of.
best4less Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 I always use coinstar but usually get the cash (which they charge a fee for). I did a search and the machines near me only do amazon.com eCetificates. That's alright, Christmas is coming so I can put it to good use. I have a big jar of change sitting in my bedroom right now as a matter of fact! lol
Betsy Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 I use coinstar and get cash only. I just checked the list and there is one place about 1.-- miles from where I live that gives the gift cards. I'm wondering if the m/c gift card charges a fee.
Rebirth Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 I'll probably for the Amazon gift certificate.
labgeek Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 I'mm have to look into this when I get home (can't use the locator function as .EXE is blocked from work). Unless someone would like to put in 23061 and 23602 and see if there are any nearby work and home. Thanks

Rebirth Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Alright, the Jewel I go to gives out Amazon.com Gift Certificates. :)
vijmas Posted November 10, 2005 Author Posted November 10, 2005 i think amazon.com is the only one available everywhere.
haberkdrew Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 There are very few Coinstar machines that offer the "prepaid gift cards" to places like Borders or Starbucks. I emailed them about this and they said, at least in my area, they weren't going to make them available any time soon. But many locations offer the Amazon.com ecertificate.
maccawolf Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 I have a coinstar in my town, but according to the search, it doesn't give e-certificates. Oh well, I guess I'll stick with my bank that does it free. (Commerce) rather than drive the 5 miles to the closest one that gives certificates. I was hoping......
flowergal Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Hey Labgeek, I was over in your neck of the woods yesterday.......off Warwick Blvd./Jefferson Ave. doing some shopping.
Gator Pam Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 I'm wondering if the m/c gift card charges a fee.According to the website, the m/c has big time fees. $9.95 fee for a first time card and $4.95 fee to reload.
