bigjimslade Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 This just in........................ MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 25, 2011– As kids count the days to Christmas and parents count their pennies, consumers can rejoice as one of retail’s best shipping programs just got better. Best Buy (NYSE: BBY) officials today announced free standard shipping on all items purchased on BestBuy.com beginning Nov. 1, 2011 and running through Dec. 27, 2011, making it easier than ever for Santa’s helpers to get and send holiday gifts. “This holiday, we are offering free shipping on everything sold on BestBuy.com…everything” said Barry Judge, Best Buy executive vice president and chief marketing officer. “Unlike some retailers, no minimum purchase will be required and free shipping will apply to the over 400,000 items sold at BestBuy.com —with no exceptions -- for the eight full weeks leading up to and immediately following Christmas Day.” In addition to Best Buy’s extensive free shipping on all products, including laptops, tablets, eReaders, TVs, gaming devices, software and more, customers can continue to take advantage of a variety of convenient store pickup options: · Same-day Store Pickup: Order online and pick up items in-store for free in as little as 45 minutes · Friends & Family Pickup: Makes it convenient for a friend or family member to pick up items in-store or use it for easy out-of-town pickup of gifts · Ship-to-Store: Order items from an expanded online assortment and have them shipped free to a local store for easy pickup “Consumers are looking for value, service and savings this year, and our goal is to provide them with convenient, creative and less costly ways to make the holiday shopping experience more enjoyable,” said Judge. “With our extensive free shipping options, in addition to our wide selection of must-have technology gifts, unmatched service and competitive pricing, we’re giving customers more ways to delight the people in their lives.” Best Buy recognizes that sometimes the perfect gift may be a duplicate or not quite as perfect as the giver intended, so it is making returns easier than ever this holiday season. This year, any gift purchased at Best Buy can be returned or exchanged from Nov. 13, 2011 through Jan. 24, 2012. In addition, Best Buy continues its no restocking fee policy, except for special orders, through the season and all year long. Free shipping is not available on select products that are sold through Best Buy’s new online Marketplace. The deadline to place a free shipping order and have it delivered in time for Christmas is 11 a.m. ET, Dec. 20. However, for last minute shoppers orders can be placed for free in-store pickup until 3 p.m local store time on Dec. 24.

MissGreen08 Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I agree with Tink. This may persuade me from buying more from them this year purely because I hate paying for shipping.
tinkrbel Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 just keep checking Amazon before making any purchase through BB it's USUALLY cheaper:P
riven3d Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 need my BB pts, worth spending the extra couple bucks
bigjimslade Posted October 25, 2011 Author Posted October 25, 2011 This is a major move for BB since CC closed. I hope there will be more good news from BB over the next few weeks.
jaymacfla Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Definitely a good move, but we are starting to see this from the smaller companies as well. They are now compelled to follow suit in a cash-strapped economy.
jediliz Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 just keep checking Amazon before making any purchase through BB it's USUALLY cheaper:PUnless you have prime or spend $25 at Amazon, you still pay shipping. This is free shipping, NO minimum!
freesia39 Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 I have prime so that's not an issue.Prime for life! Although good move BB. We hardly ever go there now, since we have Prime.
