speeddiva Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I bought a few more things this weekend. At this rate, the only things I"ll be buying on BF will be for me
Elmck Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I picked up a few things for the stockings, thanks to the Brown Spot at Target's clearance being 50% off. I will look again when it goes to 75% off!!:)
dtwdmaty Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I'm done with everyone except my kids and hubby. I wait until they REALLY decide what they want closer to Dec. I start wrapping presents on the first day of school, so I'm about half way done!
hillbillyswife Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Yes!!!! I have a big family and have to shop year round
delphernina Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Yes! Picked up some goodies from shutterfly for the grandma's. Other than that no. Still debating what to get the kids this year.
pogiporkchop Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Not a scrap, though if DH has his way we'll be getting a new TV before BF. We're trying to sell our current one and have had inquiries already... can't do without it for a couple of months even if all we do is watch movies
doublehsmom Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 I have started but not near as far as I would like to be! Starting to freak out too because my hours and dh hours have been cut back! Praying that we will still have a good Christmas!
berry1014 Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 I have been shopping all year long... teachers gifts done, nieces & newphews done, kids - started, hubby - started, parents/inlaws started..... I really need to start wrapping
pogiporkchop Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 I think I better start making my list! :)
gatorburg Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Yes I have started buying for my nieces and newphews. I like that Toysrus is giving away gift cards when you buy certain Nintendo 3ds video games this week. Also when I went to Sears found different video games at 75% off the regular price.

tinkrbel Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Oh... you made me smiled. The BF shopping for me has always been , 1 for someone else and 3 gifts for moi !Ditto, BF is mainly a ME thing. I did pretty good last year on clothes for nephew and godson though and bluray/dvd's for others too.
johansen.mimi Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Yes! We have several neices and nephews so I buy things as I see them throughout the year, and that way can focus on our son (an us!) on BF.
ajoyw001 Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 I shop year around! Found a lot of good bargains this year. In fact, I have Mother & MIL birthdays and mother's day gifts completed as well!
magickallight Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 In the past - I have always shopped all year long - but this year finances have been tight and between health problems and other issues - I am sad to say I haven't done the 1st bit, yet. I have however been able to show a lot of family and friends Great Deals (thanks to this site) - so they have been able to save money ALL years and put gifts back... so, at least I am shopping vicariously through them.
merrywether Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 I have bought a couple things but have started making list of ideas as well as getting my excel budget spreadsheet ready.
happysunshine28 Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 I havent even thought about christmas shopping yet.
otonoh Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 I bought 2 laptops for my kids in July, they were around 50% off and have more power, memory and features than mine. I need to find a nice wireless kodak printer they can share. I am glad I did, money is getting tighter and at least they will have one nice item
HansieDZ Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 I got something from Amazon.com but haven't wrapped it yet. Part of me wants to wait and savor Fall but part of me wants to get jiggy with BF'11!
2chia Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Hm.... I bought 2 inflatable Go-Kart to go with the Wii system my brother have for my two nephew and that was back in Jan and so it has been sitting in his basement until he can get the game to go with. There was also the bowling ball. Both items were 50% off the original price. LOL..... He say was hard , they had HUGE boxes . The Go-Kart has steering wheel to sit the remote control of the Wii.
Turtle Mommy Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Yes. We started for our 10 year old. Our 17 yr old is easy...he wants money and gift cards.
lori76 Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 I start mine the day after Christmas. We draw names at Christmas for the next year. I have a book with wish list for everyone. Through out the year they update and check out what other have added to there list. It works out well for us.
mcapel4444 Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 I shop all year long, although it's harder this year, since we have had to move in with my parents. Not alot of storage & some of the things I had stashed are buried in my storage shed. I pretty much have my 3 year old done- can you say it will be a very Buzz Lightyear Christmas? lol I bought a used Nintendo DS off my oldest son's gf, so that will be my 7 year olds Santa gift. I might go put some stuff on layaway at Kmart this week.
tinkrbel Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 I'm kinda kicking myself for not buying the football display case I saw at Kohls opening but can hopefully get cheaper online.
bfaddict1977 Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 omg I haven't started yet. I start in 2 weeks and already I'm stressing about getting everything I need for the best deals and getting it all within my budget. I always feel the crunch this time of year.
abentley Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 I really tried to hold back on my boys, and take care of everyone else, including the married kids and grandkids. I am really going into stress overload about it though. My ds13 actually came up with an idea today, and my ds14 might get a new shotgun. Kind of boring to me, but it seems like he has everything else. I need to get moving!
Danascraps Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 I have purchased a few small things... but until I figure out what my kids want or could possibly need... I'll have to wait to shop.
mgmckny Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 I found the Legends of Zelda Ocarina on sale at Amazon for 30. last night so I ordered it. DS14 wants a 3ds and that game so now I just have to get the 3ds. Oldest child wants a blu ray so I will probably wait til closer to BF for that, and he wants anime so I will be watching Amazon since they usually have some good deals on the ones he likes.
peppysfireball Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 I have some. I preordered my 14ds the kindle fire last week. I bought one gd a monster high doll. I have a few other assorted items, but my kids are older now and change their minds too frequently. I buy for the grandkids all year as I find deals. I used to start layaways in July, but Walmart stopped that. Now I just have a xmas club and put 25.00 a week in it so I have plenty of cash to get it all the week of black friday. My dd is 22 and wants a Northface jacket. I had never seen them before, 200.00. My oldest will want parts for teh 58 chevy he's building probably or old horror movies. He just came home from Iraq, so that makes it a wonderful xmas already. My youngest wants a couple video games that don't come out till close to xmas, but the Fire will be his main present this year. Last year they each wanted about 500 worth of big items and I was scrambling to pay for it all.
