crix101 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 I just saw that they are coming out with full length movies for the Game Boy advance. I am sooo stoaked! They have a box set with Shrek and Shark tales together for 29.00 on Amazon. That is a good deal and for those without a dvd player in the car it could be a life saver. I think it is much better than the short cartoons for 15.00 that they have been selling for the GBA. Just thought you might think that was cool.
Gporter34 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Thanks, will those also work on the SPs? I am hoping to pick up 2 of them at WM on BF this year for my two youngest sons. It would be great if they will work on those because they love those movies and that would be a nice way to keep them occupied in the van.lol
civicracinggirl7 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 i think it's a great way for them to compete in that area with the psp. a good boost for all of the advance systems, the ds, and the micro.

Tracy72 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 heck that is cheap I gave $20 for a for the little clips...but I think that I am getting the portable dvd players for the girls this yr..Thanks
civicracinggirl7 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 also, if you have a gamecube too, then you can get an adapter to play the advance cartridges on the tv through the gamecube, so you can get more mileage out of the movies (i have a non-nintendo brand adapter that is probably about $15-20)
Gporter34 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 yes, all gameboy advance cartridges work on: advanceadvance spdsmicroThat's nice to know because oldest son has ds.
SuperMommy Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 WOW!! I didn't know they had movies for those!! Any that aren't animated movies? I should get some for my big kid (my hubby).
best4less Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Yeah, I seen these. Naturally I didn't notice them until after I bought my DD 3 of the 44 min cartoon ones. Oh well, I can't complain too much. Got them when Amazon was having the buy 2 get 1 free deal plus I had a $10 GC so I only paid $17 and some change for all 3 shipped :)
whafs8 Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Amazon has some on sale right now or at least last night they were in their dealz page

elena_398 Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 Both my kids have the video now color players. Is this the same concept? I'll have to look what kind of movies they have for his GameBoy
Gator Pam Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 Beorn had gotten several of the anime series for GBA last year. They work great, but the volume is so quiet it's hard to hear what's being said when watching in a moving car. If you plan to use them in a car, I would still go with the portable DVD players.
jadedmomof2 Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 That is great! My son has two of the Nickelodeon cartridges, but movies would be a great addition to those. BTW, the tv show cartridges are ONLY for the GBA, they will not work in the Player(the part that connects to the GameCube) I remember that warning on the box when I bought the shows. I can't speak for the DS however.
crix101 Posted October 28, 2005 Author Posted October 28, 2005 As to the volume issue. I bought the headset for my daughter and then she can hear fine and I dont have to listen to her movie while I am driving.:)

I can't speak for the DS however. The DS can take all GBA cartridges. It has a spot for a GBA cartridge, and one for a DS cartridge. The GBA SP takes all GBA cartridges, as well as all original GameBoy and GB Color cartridges (the DS does not take the original GB or GBC cartridges). The player that I have for the GC connects into one of the controller ports, and you just snap the GBA cartridge into it. I'd imagine that videos would play this way, but I've not tested it.
whafs8 Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 I like the sp because it is compact. The movies will be great. But a BOGO event on these would be great.
crix101 Posted November 10, 2005 Author Posted November 10, 2005 Did you get your bogo wish? TRU has bogo on game boy advance videos right? Hope these are included!
ilalynch Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 That's nice to know because oldest son has ds. But did you know that gameboy color and/or gameboy games do not play on a DS. You can only play gameboy advanced and DS... that is where i am torn because we have alot of gameboy color games and his gameboy advance is on its last leg
ryka Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 In the TRU ad it says buy one get one free gameboy advance movies
ebony0421 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I am glad that I visit this site regularly because I am learning all sorts of stuff. I didn't know they had movies.
