pmdemey Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Did anyone else have as many problems as I had with these? I had so many choppers returned.
Gporter34 Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Weellllll, The chopper is quite a touchy subject with me. I thought I was getting such a great deal! When I opened it up I was so embarrassed I didn't want anyone else to see it so I hid it in a drawer and it is still there. Still in the box. I love the sandwich maker, the kids love it too. The iron has been great and so has the hair dryers.
pmdemey Posted October 25, 2005 Author Posted October 25, 2005 The chopper is good for onions and eggs but not alot of anything else.
Kandy Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 My daughter got one for me last year with her own money for christmas. She was 11. I pull it out and use it to chop up an onion for chilli or something like that. I've not had any problems with mine...Knock on wood.
mrsbmb Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 i love mine for quick jobs..i have had no trouble with it yet and i bought mine the year before last. kathy
happysunshine28 Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 I have had no problems, I have the chopper and hand mixer. I even chopper nuts and no problem.
Gumball Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 I got a coffee maker once and since I don't drink that much coffee anyway, it's fine for heating up hot water for tea & hot chocolate.
Joanne Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I got a coffeemaker to use as a backup, but it is still in the box. I also got the crock pot and LOVE it!
Gumball Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I forgot, I've also got one of those mini crockpots with no temp control and have never used it. What can you do with those besides keep food warm? Can you make anything besides nacho sauce in it? I also bought a belgian waffle maker years ago that I haven't used yet either but $5.00 for it was hard to turn down.
pmdemey Posted October 26, 2005 Author Posted October 26, 2005 The crockpots are really good for little smokies and bbq sauce, caramal dip, and hot fudge:hungry:
eew92 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I love the waffle iron. The irons also work well. I want a coffe make this year to heat water in for hot coco and tea.
pmdemey Posted October 26, 2005 Author Posted October 26, 2005 The more I think about it I should get one of all of them for our camper. Soooo replacable!
Gporter34 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I will probably get the coffee maker this year. Other than the chopper, all of the "cheapy" appliances I've gotten have been great. I got tired of my girls borrowing my hair dryer so last year I got them each one and they work really well for them. Also, son loves the iron that I got last year. Again, tired of him using mine on trips and always worried he'll lose it.lol
Guest DigDoug Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I got the chopper and electric knife. Both have been fine for me. I've used the chopper many times to chops nuts.
Gator Pam Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I thought the no temp control crockpot was only meant for potpourri...
Gumball Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Those are usually marked for potpourri only tho and are smaller than this is.
vonnyb Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Bought the chopper two years ago and although it is rather small I have not had any problems with it. I also bought the coffe maker and that works fine as well.
erh12275 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 The crockpots are really good for little smokies and bbq sauce, caramal dip, and hot fudge:hungry:About how big are they? I mean I know what it says...and I see the pic..but what I really wanna know is what it will hold. How many little smokies?
Gumball Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 About how big are they? I mean I know what it says...and I see the pic..but what I really wanna know is what it will hold. How many little smokies? The ones in the Walmart BF ad for this year are 2 qts. in size. Big enough for a small roast beef, soup, stews, etc. Those little crockpots they had a few years ago were about a 1 quart size with no temp control and no removable crock.
teresa92 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I hope to get several of the little crock pots. I'd like to use them on the Christmas buffet to keep veggies hot.
Gumball Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Those little ones aren't in the Walmart ad but you might find some at Big Lots. I got one there a couple of years ago that has a temp control & a removable crock for about $7.97.
Steakgoddess Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 So the crock pot in this year's ad...removeable crock or no?
elena_398 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I got the coffee maker last year (or maybe the year before) and it works great. Im the only coffee drinker so a basic 12 cup is all I need. Even though my origonal one is fine, I am picking up another for get togethers.
Gumball Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 The ad says 2 quart slow cooker but the item numbers are for all 3 things together so I don't know which is which. XQ687, JE3049, MD-YHJ20 The pic shows 4 settings on it so it should have High, Low, Warm & Off which means it will have a removable crock. I might get a couple myself if it has a warm setting.
Jenniferharrison82 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Never had a problem with my chopper, though it is rather small.
erh12275 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Did anyone else have as many problems as I had with these? I had so many choppers returned.Well I bought the $15 one from sears last year and it fell apart on the first use. I was not happy.
Mara Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 My hand mixer from a few BF's ago final blew. Was hoping they would have another $4 one lol Mara
Gumball Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Do you have Meijer there? Keep an eye on their ad. Last year they had some good deals on small stuff like that too.
jadedmomof2 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Well, I have one of the can openers from the BF ad, got it on clearance after Christmas, for $2, and it works great. I did get what should've been the $10 food processor, same thing, on clearance. but I have yet to open the box(still in the garage even). LOL I'm waiting until I have a bigger kitchen, and some place to store it.
Gumball Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 The can opener I got from there was lousy. I tried it twice and it left metal shavings in the can of food both times. It went back in the box and I haven't touched it since. I may just throw it out or take it apart. It's not good enough to give away.
