simonalex Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 Hi everyone, I have heard about people hiding stuff to buy on BF. What I don't understand is why can't they buy the stuff when they get it and then get a price adjustment for it on BF day?? Why take the affort of finding item, hiding it, searching for it again and taking teh chance of not finding it.?? Simonalex
MoOn-BaBy Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 Not all stores will do that. And Wal-Mart in particular has a different bar code for their BF items so they ring up the cheaper price even if it is the same exact item.
bayhaysay Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 I'm assuming you would have to go to the customer service desk of a retailer on BF to get the adjustment. Why would anyone put themselves through that!?
simonalex Posted October 19, 2005 Author Posted October 19, 2005 Thanks for explaining!!! Guess will havr to stick to PMing then. Altough I have never tried it. Simonalex
lauralee Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 I've never tried PM'ing either, but as the ads come out, it may be in the plan.
elena_398 Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 I know sears let you buy before then price match on BF, but most stores will not
shanni Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 I did 6 PMs at Walmart from stuff I had bought the day before, they didn't give me any problems at all.
Gporter34 Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 I am not sure, but I don't think I would take the chance of trying to hide it.
r5moores Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 Most stores dont even put out their bf merchandise until they close the store the night before thanksgiving. Most will not price adjust either because if they did then everyone would be in the few days before black friday buying everything that was going to go on sale and then on bf none of the advertiesed items would be available. Makes sense.
caseyslilangel Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 I would think you can get a Price adjustment. One of our walmarts is really good though and the other one has horrible customer service in my opinion.
newmania Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 Toysrus and Target have already gotten a lot of their black friday merchandise in. What do you think, they send a 8,000+ piece truck on Thanksgiving? Most stores are getting tons of holiday trucks and don't have room to store green friday merchandise in the back. Believe me, we are a small minority compared to the Black Friday buying population. In the future however they may have to do something about it as sites like this grow.
danderson101 Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 I've already bought items at both OD and Compusa- they both said they would give me the lower price on BF.
coneeny4 Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 I ordered something on November 8th through Walmart.com and called them on the 18th when I received it and noticed it was now 5.00 cheaper. They told me you only have 7 days to get the rollback price and they would not give me the difference. I also asked in my local Toy r Us and was told that they do not price match any other store prices.
danderson101 Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 You usually have a minimum of 14 days to return item and get lower price.
khrysta Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 I could be wrong, but I think Michigan has a consumer protection law that requires retailers to give you 30 days minimum to get a price adjustment. how would I go about trying to verify that law?
