orangedaisy Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 If you don't like snow on Christmas, wouldn't you just despise it on Black Friday? What a mess that would be! I've never had it happen but it is possible where I live. Anyone have any snowy Black Friday stories?
elena_398 Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 I had some icy road conditions one year. I was scared to death. But it thawed out by the time the sun came up.
bayhaysay Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 I am in SW Arkansas so I would take snow just about anytime EXCEPT for BF. Most of the time it is 60-70 degrees. Chilly in the am but by the afternoon you are stripping down to the T-shirts.
elena_398 Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Im in Ohio and the weather here is so fickle.
outnumbered Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 It hasn't snowed in November the whole time I have lived out here. I'd be nervous driving down to the stores if it did though. Not just in the ice/snow but at night too? Yikes.

The mighty 101st fought in every war but god forbid it snow were screwed :) I laughed so hard when that happened 2 years ago. No one had a clue what that white stuff was or how to drive in it :) Mara
starshine Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 I live in NY so I'm have drivin in snow on BF before. Last year it was snowing but not sticking to the roads. That is usually how it is. One year it was 70 degrees and we wore shorts to BF. Wish that would happen again!

So post was shut down because of the roads' "dangerous conditions" but all the guys had to drive in to be told to turn around and drive home!
Ravenseye Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 I live in Syracuse NY...Snow should be arriving in the next few days Seriously, I've been to a few BFs where there was snow flittin around. Heck, I've trick or treated in two feet of snow before! :) -Mike P.S. for those who have troubles driving in snow. Don't worry about it, even here in syracuse people completely forget how to drive in it every year...so we have to deal with a rash of morons who get into accidents because of the white stuff :)
diane175 Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 If it means less people to fight on BF then bring it on! I do get nervous driving on ice, though. I can deal with snow, but we are lucky to get a few days of snow here in the whole wintertime, so I don't think it is likely for BF!
Guest Deals4Me Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 ARGH! No snow on BF...Its cold enough as it is!
jadedmomof2 Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Snow, black Friday, no big deal. I am in North Dakota after all.
penor Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Last year it snowed but didn't stick. I guess if it was something I HAD to have and was an outrageous deal I'd brave the snow. But otherwise I guess I'd have to miss it:cry2: either that or I'd have to drag DH out of bed to drive me and that would totally SUCK. He's a stick in the mud when shopping. He's definatley cramp my style.
Steakgoddess Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 People here are idiots in the snow. Idiots. So it isn;t me or my Jeeo that I don;t have confidence in in the snow, it is the fools out there that either speed just as they would under perfect road conditions and those that go 10 mph.

People stationed here are from all over...some are from states where it snows all the time and they are experienced at driving in the snow and will take more chances (and being soldiers, and younger, they tend to speed anyway)...some are from states where it doesn't ever snow (like me!) and drive like chickens (like me! LOL)...it's a bad combo. I try to avoid driving when it snows. Thankfully, if there is enough snow on the ground to bother me, they tend to shut down school, so I don't have to go anywhere.
boudmel Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Nope no snow down here - just have to watch out for those darn hurricanes:(
