  1. My husband passed away in September last year. My kids were 17 and 19. It was difficult to be sure trying to start something new especially while I was still in deep mourning, we all were. We decided that Christmas night we'd now go to the movies. Other than that we'll see what happens this year. I'm not big on change and really miss the traditions we had but I had no choice. I'm sorry you're going through this with young ones it will be difficult this year for sure.
  2. That darn Bath and Body tote filled with stuff. Every year I think "no, not this year!" And every year I cave and get it. I can't help myself. Oh and it's my reward for shopping on that day. I keep everything in it.lol
  3. It could have to do with where you live.(the divinity) I know with any cookies like that if it's a bit humid or damp they are going to come out wrong. meringue cookies are like that too. Any that you need to beat the egg whites and sugar.
  4. So does anyone else do St. Nick night. It's tonight so don't forget.
  5. I think it'll go pretty quick. You always have the people who don't even want the item but put them up on ebay with an up charge. I really hate that. Wish there was a way that couldn't happen.
  6. Just me and my mom always. This year DD and her friends plan to go on their own now that they can drive and are old enough to go it alone. I've been prepping her lately on how to handle it but I doubt any of them will be up in time for door busters. They are still teens after all. They'll probably not get moving till at least 9 or 10.
  7. Outside of Cincinnati. Venture around the tri-State area. In/Ky/Oh all at my fingertips I can be found in any or all of those areas.
  8. I'm hoping for a coffee pod type coffee pot for my son. He wants one really bad but I won't give what they are asking for them now. Wanting a big Black Friday discount price. Oh and the pods too.
  9. you can make the gravy the night before and reheat..it's fine and what I do. I also make Paula Dean's hash brown quiche and orange glazed muffins that are from Pioneer woman's blog. Good stuff!!
  10. My broccoli casserole would make Paula Deen cringe.lol Broccoli steamed and put in a casserole dish. Cover with pats of butter(real salted butter please no margarine) Slice velveeta and lay slices over broccoli till covered. Crumble enough Ritz to cover all put on top. Top those crackers with more pats of butter. Bake 350 till bubbly and melty. So bad....so good.
  11. Woo Hoo! Thanks so much. 2 cookbooks $11.00 shipped! My MIL had all the year end Taste Of Homes and I got them when she passed away. I love them. Love those cook books.
  12. okay...maybe not then.lol I didn't know there was construction through there right now. Maybe I'll wait for the newness to wear off of it. This will be the first black Friday it's opened. Thank you all.
  13. We have a new one in the Cincinnati area and we're thinking about heading out for the midnight opening. Was wondering how good the deals are and if it's worth the trip because while it's in the area it's still a bit of a haul to go there.
  14. I think it was 2 years ago my son(then 11) wanted an "Abraham Lincoln hat". I have no idea WHY...he didn't get it. He would have worn it and he's wierd enough as it is.(lol) My 15y.o. DD wants a snuggie this year too. She's always cold and I can see her hobbling around in that thing.(lol)
  15. Thats my son too. I try to keep him "normal" and he wants none of it. He just doesn't care what others think. I guess it's my hangup wanting him to "fit in".LOL
