Kibit13
I find it interesting that the troll is calling people shopaholics and saying that people have nothing better to do and yet he joined GD in October 2005. Closet shopaholic much?
Klownicle
Some people must not have to earn a living, thus having all this time on their hands to wait in pointless lines, for so called deals. just think how many kids that will do without you could help with all that extra time to waste on a line and money spent on gas for generators, etc, etc. Lets see......a week in line at Minimum wage of $7.75 per hour times 40 hours.....$310 minimum in lost wages...times people in your group..... WOW with 5 people in your group....that savings you got only cost you $1550 for those BIG savings.Like PT Barnum once said..there's a sucker born every minute...LOL I don't know about you... but im getting holiday pay and im on a paid vacation... And just ... a little ... more then 7.75 a hour... Don't hate the playa, hate the game.
wools
As of 4:30, we had lines at Best Buy, Target & Toys R Us in Topeka, Kansas.
deanabrown
I rode past our BB and Target around 7 tonight. I was surprised to see only 4 people in the BB line and NO ONE at Target. (These are some of the highest volume stores in the area) It must be the weather, cold and raining, that is having such a big impact.
barc
Just talked to my wife, who is at WM. She is first in line for the laptops. They have 43 laptops in the store. Almost 400 of the 19" LCD TV's. She said it is pretty dead but they expect it to pick up before midnight when the first sale starts.

Scanner420
Here's an earlier local news report: http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/story?section=news/business&id=7810529 UPDATE: They just did a line report from TRU in Deptford, NJ! Cops were called to control the crowd that was estimated to be in the range of 1,500 to 2,000 people!! TRU did a ticket plan earlier for their big ticket items, one per person and they're letting people in 10-20 at a time to control interior crowds! ClosedAcct
Just got home from Walmart. I went at 11 based on the reports stuff was being allowed in carts before 12...NOT the case in my store. Stuff wasn't even rolled out until starting at 11:45. I saw a lady get punched in the face for grabbing "too many" of the $2.98 food processor things. I got my dvds are the fighting calmed and I got out. It's 1:34 here, time for my line reports: Target on Eastchase in Ft. Worth, TX has 30 people and a few sitting in cars - NOT packed at all. Old Navy near NE Mall in Hurst, TX has a line at least half a mile long - it looks like they are being orderly and letting in a few a time. I passed. TRU near NE Mall, about 100 deep - I was not close enough to see inside the store. That's all I've got...time for bed!

Iliveforblckfri
Walmart is crazy. Trampolines gone by 11. Never seen this many people here so early! I got to WalMart at 11:45. It was way too crazy. I don't think I have ever left a BF sale with nothing. Worked that way tonight. I like the early morning openings better. Too many kids at the store just to add to the crowd. bkny11203
I got to Target at midnight was fourth in line. Line never really got too long. My Target seems to fall between the cracks. Got the email that Walmart started online shopping around 3. Bought 2 of the 32" for $198 before it sold out while waiting in line. Then got my 40" at Target. khuddle
We arrived at Walmart in Wilmington NC about 10:00 PM. people were filling their carts with the midnight sale stuff. We grabed the few items we wanted and passes them to my sister so we could go wait at Target. She was told about 11 that she could not have the items in her cart yet. Everyone had items in their cart. She checked out at 12:00 and was done. We arrived at Target at 10:30pm. We were 24th in line. The first in line had arrived at 6:20. Everyone was after the 298 40 inch TV. They had about 70. The crowed went way long this year. longer than I had seen it in the past.
Scanner420
My DW got this text from a friend: Hey K- Went to TRU in Deptford! Got in line at 6pm and was escorted to the end by police! Lines were real long! Doors opened at 9pm and managers gave out tickets, we didn't get any! 10pm doors opened! We got in around 11:15pm and finally checked out at 1:45! This is the last time I'm going to TRU!
jaymacfla
Sounds like you are having fun! My dad goes to the Vintage Grand Prix race at Mid-Ohio every year and sets up his tent with a kitchen. He sits outside all day in 90 degree heat and humidity watching the races. He barely gets the chance to shower (ick!) but he has so much fun! He has made quite a few friends up there and they meet back each year to grill filet and drink good scotch. He LOVES it! Even though they are different events, as I was reading your post I realized how similar they actually are. Have fun. Enjoy yourself and like I always tell my Dad, stay out of trouble! I take camp showers and baby wipes work great for overall cleanliness.

jaymacfla
We just got interviewed by Fox 8 News Cleveland. The next night we were watching the parking lot, and a van with a big antenna boom went up, and the next thing you know, we were on the 6 o'clock news on channel 4. They also stayed for the live broadcast at 11!
