Brad Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Does anyone have any suggestions for things you'd like to be able to redeem your points for? We'll have the GD shirts/stickers/pens, gift certificates and contest entries, but is there anything else you can think of? Hosting accounts? Domain names? Cash/PayPal? What about forum-type things like being able to change someone else's avatar/user title for a day, increased PM limits, access to special smilies, etc...? Someone has to have some creative ideas We have our own ideas & plans but we can always use more :)

mrn8 Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 GottaDeal Nalgene water bottle. You can never have enough of those.
Guest DigDoug Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 GottaDeal Nalgene water bottle. You can never have enough of those.I still haven't found the perfect Nalgene bottle. I've bought the knock-offs: mouth is too wide (good for putting in protein shake mix, but bad for drinking) and then I got a couple at Walmart with this ice pack you can put in it from the freezer (it's like trying to suck on a baby bottle). Want some? LOL
Guest DigDoug Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 I like Ray's ideas. Gadgets would be good.
Keebelf Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Trade Gottapoints for Zap money. LOL. I could go with some money in my ING account....
Brad Posted September 20, 2005 Author Posted September 20, 2005 Trade Gottapoints for Zap money. LOL.Oooh. Good idea. 1 GottaPoint = $1.00 in GreenZap Probably still not worth it, lol.
Brad Posted September 20, 2005 Author Posted September 20, 2005 If we were to put, for example, an MP3 player in the store, would you rather have it be for a high amount of points that the first person that can afford (and wants it) can get it, or would you rather have the contest entry method where you can spend a few of your points for a chance at winning it? Or do some each way?
Guest beatmix01 Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 GC to Thinkgeek.com that site is awesome!

mrn8 Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Yeah, I would say go with the contest method, also. It makes it more interesting, and you don't have to pass up other drawings to save for one thing.

mrn8 Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Sipper insertOne I think I'm going to try out
Guest DigDoug Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Sipper insertOne I think I'm going to try outThanks Nate! I think I am going to buy both of them. My knockoffs will go to charity. :)
mrn8 Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Thanks Nate! I think I am going to buy both of them. My knockoffs will go to charity. :)The sipper doesn't fit the bottle I linked, but I think that's obvious. The sipper fits the wide-mouth bottles.

outnumbered Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 I would say some each way. I agree. Actually I think it'd be ideal to have several of a certain item, so the first several people can get one, like you do with the t-shirts and stickers. Then have contest entries for the "big" (i.e. expensive) things. But it's your money being spent LOL so I understand if you don't want to be buying multiples of various items. But I like the idea of having a few things that are simply available for the taking, so that not everything involves us using up our points just for a chance at something we didn't wind up winning. Although if the prize is something I really want, I'd probably risk it.

BigJeff Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 I like the contest idea for big items. I don't post much on forums, though, so I probably won't accumulate a lot of GottaPoints.
JonathanM Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 How about admin for a day or something like that?
Aaron Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 How about admin for a day or something like that? That will never happen.. Maybe Mod for a Month.. :)
RossMAN Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 How about admin for a day or something like that? That's actually an interesting idea. Admin? No way. Mod for a day or week with limited capabilities? Maybe.
Brad Posted September 22, 2005 Author Posted September 22, 2005 Mod for a day or week with limited capabilities? Maybe.I don't think anyone on here really wants to be a mod...
Guest DigDoug Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 I don't think anyone on here really wants to be a mod... Yeah, not much happens to mod. I sure don't want to mod myself. LOL
