Kash Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Hey, Dollar Tree just sent me a link to this page of how to make wreaths :) Thought I would share. http://www.dollartree.com/custserv/custserv.jsp?pageName=CraftCenter
ilovemypumpkins Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 We have been making the snowman handprint ornaments since DS12 was in kinder. I have a really cute poem that goes with but I cannot remember it right this second...The jist is "See these cute snowmen, count them 1,2,3 but be careful not to lose them, Look closely and you'll seeThey aren't just any snowmen..They are made with a special part of me!" I am sure its cuter but that is the best I can do off the top of my head We attach them on cute paper, cut with decorative scissors at the top of the ornament. We also spray ours with adhesive glitter and be sure to write the kids name and the year on the back :) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v519/kriskyrstynjaxon/DSCF1007.jpg This is what we are doing for the grandparents for Christmas.
Rockfordmom Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=329854.0 this washer necklace craft is a fun, easy craft to do-and pretty cheap as well! We used pictures from magazines-and ended up with some very pretty necklaces that were made from part of a picture of a dress, or a cool purse with a butterfly on it, a surfboard design etc. We'll be making some more using Christmas paper. I didn't buy the glossy accents, but they are still very pretty and the kids love them.Amy I love these! I may have to make some with my daughter, thanks for posting the link!
HansieDZ Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 I bought some white (bathroom imo) tiles at Menard's for nine cents a piece. I am going to make them into trivets and paint special things on them. I'll be using my glass painting kit I bought at Michael's. I actually need one of these for my kitchen,so I'll make one for my house :)

Kibit13 Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 I've made a peppermint candy wreath before. They are easy to do while sitting on the sofa and watching a Christmas movie. Here are some instructions. This blog looks like they have some neat stuff. The blog writer made candy wreaths out of a few different types of candy. Very cute! http://craveindulgesatisfy.blogspot.com/2009/12/countdown-to-christmas-day-16-candy.html Pictures are from the blog craveindulgesatisfy Peppermint candy wreath http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wGqV4pgUA7E/SymVK6wKm_I/AAAAAAAAAr8/4LRXu_69c3s/s400/P1010036.JPG Assorted candy wreath. Rockfordmom Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 My daughter and I made the washer things for the necklaces, I will try to take a picture tomorrow & post it.
nolansmomster Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 I usually make cappuccino mix (I have a killer recipe that is super easy!) This year I plan on filling jars and tying some cute or vintage spoons on with some cute ribbon... Or if I can't find spoons I am happy with, I will buy colored plastic spoons and dip them in chocolate. I also saw a variation on the rag wreath made with plastic sandwich bags to be a "crystal wreath" (I think it was in Family Fun magazine maybe?) that is on my list to try this year.

Kayakmom Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 I'm on the last few yards of ribbon for a ribbon wreath. It's coming out nicely but took me much longer than the hour or two that others have reported. My poor fingers just don't work like they used to. I was thinking it would be great to make one with assorted green ribbons and put a nice red ribbon on it to simulate a "real" wreath. I think I might also try out the fabric wreaths. The ribbon ranged from 1.97 to 2.97 at WalMart so it cost around $25 to make the wreath. That's a little steep for a homemade project, I think! Any ideas where to get the the ribbon for less?
nolansmomster Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Care to share the cappuccino mix recipe? Absolutely! 2 cups flavored powdered coffee creamer2 cups sugar1 cup instant coffee 1 cup powdered milk Mix everything together. To make cappuccino add around 3-4 tsp to a cup of hot water... This makes a pretty large batch and converts to sugar or caffeine free very nicely!
