reportermomof3
I know I got some 2 years ago, but need new bikes again since they will be outgrown by Christmastime. Are the best deals for bikes on BF, or should I keep an eye out before BF?
happysunshine28
It always good to look at the end of the season too, you could find an awesome deal.
amberjobryant
they usually go pretty cheap i think i picked some 20" bikes at walmart a few years back for like 35.00 each, but they where basic
reportermomof3
Basic is all we need. I'm going to need a 20-inch and a 24-inch. I recall the 20-inch ones on sale, but do you remember if the 24-inch were also on sale?
reportermomof3
Will look at the end of the season, too. Thanks for the suggestion!
amberjobryant
I can't remember, might be worth a dig through the archives, i am giong to need at least one 24" this year myself.......
speeddiva
Last year there was nothing above a 20" on sale, we ended up waiting until around Easter when they went on sale.
Gporter34
The 20" bikes go on sale every year on BF, I think. Not sure about anything bigger, although, I seem to recall a mountain bike or two in recent years in the WM ads.
mgmckny
Except that hiding them can be a problem, there was an article that said September was the best month to get a deal on a bike. Summer's ending, kids are back in school, etc. Thinking of looking for a 26 in for my 17 year old, the one he got 2 years ago isn't holding up that well and he wants a beach cruiser, and I want him to quit stealing mine...LOL
goodiegirlie
I'm looking for bikes too this year...although my kids are older and want a certain brand..ugh what happened to them being little and things being cheaper!
ajohanek
Do 12" bikes also go on sale on BF? I have starting looking around for the end of season deals but not sure if I should just wait until BF. Thanks!

mike60
Forget that Walmart junk, go to a real bike store, most have layaway and the one I used even held it till Christmas eve. Mike
bigjimslade
I agree with Mike. The bike stores around Dallas always have sales and they will work with you on layaway and payments. You are better off then the junk at walmart or target. Welcome to the community Mike! Forget that Walmart junk, go to a real bike store, most have layaway and the one I used even held it till Christmas eve. Mike
amyers12345
Walmart runs the 20" and 26", nothing in between. When you get those, they are junk- totally agree with the previous posters. However, if you just want something for rec use, try looking now. Last Christmas, we bought the bf ones. The seats are hard, the grips are solid plastic, etc. Just to do basic upgrades to keep from getting blisters on a 10 minute ride cost as much as buying one off the rack. In the summer, a decent one will cost $80 (decent for walmart bikes), in the winter, around $120.
nikol0304
Personally, I don't mind buying the junk at WM. My kids are 3 (4 next month) and 2, and my 3 year old has outgrown the first junky bike from WM, before it's junked out. He's riding with no training wheels and he's rough on them. I'd rather spend less on something that's going to be outgrown in 2 years tops anyways. I could see buying better bikes for olders kids who don't have much growing left...but not for my little ones. lol.
arci122
The 3 Walmart bikes I've gotten at WM various BF are still going strong......have boys and they have lasted.......worth the 25 dollars.
rjncmj
We've bought a few kids bikes from WM that are still holding up great too. The one we bought from ToysRUs last year has given us nothing but problems though.
