Whew! New job + school + life = crazy! Einstein should've came up with that equation! :cheesy:

Thought I'd drop in an update. Finally got the moderator site up and workin' for those of y'all helpin' out. For the rest of ya, I've moved the charts to http://blackfriday.thestationchief.com and got a brief redesign of the 2010 GDCC main site to make it a lil' more pretty and hopefully more user-friendly. Instructions as well as a few extra features (selectable columns with the option of a 'printer-friendly' format as well as a 'mobile' version of the site) soon to follow.

The use of jquery and table sorter might make the tables nicer. Sort multiple columns at once, and a few other nice features.

http://jquery.com/ - jquery.js

http://tablesorter.com/docs/#Download - tablesorter.js

Example - http://tablesorter.com/docs/#Demo

Thanx for that. I thought about usin' javascript tools like those but I decided to design one from scratch myself. ;) The functuality of sorting the tables by individual columns has been there on the GDCC charts. It was just sort of 'hidden' from the less internet-savy folks. But it's there.

Wow! What a lot of work you all are putting in and it is SO appreciated. I didn't realize these charts had existed before. Where will I find them when they are ready?

Thanx! And the 2010 charts will be right here: http://blackfriday.thestationchief.com. Just that the 2009 and older stuff will be there until the major 2010 ads start rollin' in.

This is ironic!! I just did this with the pre-sales and most of the toys my kids picked out!!! That was....until a stupid, idiotic Medical Resident touched my computer at work and erased my efforts which took me an hour and a half!!!! I thought it was a great idea!!! I'll help out if you want...I know it's alot of work..just pm me the details!!!

I'm guessing he's referring to the Sears ad that is already out.

:gdyeahthat:

Now that we've got one out of the four major ads in there's still three more we're waitin' for: Target, Best Buy, and Wal-(Dont-Release-Me-Until-Its-Time)-Mart.

Scratch that. Target has landed ;)

Why can I only see 2005-2009 lap and desk tops??

Because there hasn't been any desktops or lappys in the ads until just recently. Far as the previous years that's pretty much all I've ever done. Check again friday mornin' and see if there's a lil' surprise waitin' for you or anyone wantin' electronics items for BF. ;)

TY for this chart! It may be way too much work, but is there a way to put a link in the chart so we can get to the BF ad? Or to the shopping list page for that store? Links are annoying, tho. Just a thought.

I just used Neato! to open the chart on my Palm Pre while browsing it on my computer. It displays well (although with the super duper tiny font as per usual). Bookmark added on my smartphone. Please tell me this same page will hold the 2010 chart when available?!?

Thanks again!

Ahem. This same page will hold the 2010 chart when available. :tongue1:

And on the subject of accessin' the charts on your mobile devices, expect to see a more mobile-friendly 'lite' version of the site soon. ;)

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, StationChief and his infamous band of misfits are very proud to present...

The 2010 BF Product Comparison Chart items! :2woot:

http://blackfriday.thestationchief.com

The 2010 charts themselves will be regularly updated as more ads get released and more items get added. Comments are greatly appreciated. Suggestions are helpful. Complaints go to my recycle bin. :tongue1:

As mentioned before, I'll be workin' on a few tweaks and a more mobile-friendly version of the site that should be up by the weekend.

Enjoy. :)

I don't want to be critical - I LOVE the charts! - but when I was researching the TVs I saw that you have the VIZIO E420VO 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV listed with 4 HDMI ports, but when I looked it up on Amazon to check reviews, it says it only has 2. I just want to make sure I have the right number of ports because I have an XBOX and a Wii. Thanks for all you do!

Just checked out the official specs from VISIO: VIZIO’s E420VO 42” Class (42.02 inch diagonal) LCD HDTV , and you're right! It is only two HDMI ports as well as no S-Video. I'll be fixin' that. I gotta verify most of the ports info and specific details in these charts, anyways.

My 'magic monkeys' made a slight change the the main site. Seems all that overabundance of text and mumbo-jumbo was makin' the charts a lil' too 'scrolly', for lack of a better term. Lemme know what'cha think now.

Also, the Best Buy items are on their way, soon as I quick verify some of this info.
