I can't answer for sure but I don't think having an Australian cc will be a problem. My cousin lives in Australia and has ordered from Dell before.

As for whether the 40% off any configuration coupon will be back, it might, but it probably won't happen until mid-October. And even that is not a certainty. Dell recently lowered the 35% coupon to only 30%, so it might go back up to 35%, but that might be it.

 

With this deal, you get 45% off, and although they come with a lot of extras, you can get them for just a little bit more than a stripped-down version using the 35% coupon. Plus the extras will help if you decide to sell it down the road. The extended warranty is also a very nice thing to have.

Is it just me, or did dell increase their prices, then toss in this 45% coupon. The $2,184 Inspiron doesn't look like a good deal at all, with the 45% off it look just "ok". It seems like the 35% off saved you more money.

We were at a computer store a while back and they actually had a full sized keyboard that was flexible and you could roll up and the guy said that people bought them to use for their laptops, to make them easier to type on.

ehhh... he mostly uses his laptop to type up his outlines for his classes, and he hardly ever uses it in class. if he did use it in class though, i think he'd look slightly odd unrolling a keyboard, while everyone else types away on their 700m's.

 

i'd worry about it not reading keys correctly.

Sorry to ask, but I'm a little confusd on this deal.

 

The GottaDeal post says "Save 45% on laptops over $x.xx using code A". The link to the Dell site says the same thing, until you get to the 4 choices of laptops. There, it shows the full price, then the reduced price, if you use code B.

 

Here's the question: do you use BOTH codes? Or only one? If you do use both, do you use them in a particulat order, or does it matter?

There is only one code. I don't know why the codes are different. Dell has used that page for several recent promotions, so the codes may be the older ones. I'd try using the code on our site first, and if it doesn't work, use the ones on Dell.com as a backup.

It really depends on what kind of laptop you want. The bare essentials or something loaded with a warranty?

 

45% off is almost half off that definitely qualifies as a "hot deal" if you want a fully loaded laptop with 3 year warranty protection.

 

Otherwise wait until mid-October when Dell might have another $750 off $1499 coupon code.

Yup. I was talking about the comparison between the old deals and this one. It seems like there is a difference of around $350 (which might be from the warranty). That starting price on the 700m is $1,924 before the 45% off. It just doesn't seems like a good deal for people wanting a decent laptop (only good for the power users).

 

45% off sounds awesome, but when the price is jacked up, and a 45% coupon is released, it kind of makes it pointless to say 45% off, since it might only be like 30% off.

 

Am I making sense or just rambling on? Sorry it's a bit late here :/

Compared to the normal Dell prices, this deal is still very hot. How would you like to be your average consumer going right to Dell.com where these configurations are around $600 more than you can get with this coupon. The 3 year warranty is very nice and should greatly help resale value.

Well my wife is really clumsy. She has a habit of spilling drinks on our coffee table. With my last laptop, I only dropped it once (damn thing was a beast! tipped over and landed right on the pcmcia wireless card )

Otherwise, I'm very careful with my electronics and anal retentive on taking care of them.
