  1. The Gymbucks promotion will be going on. Special early bird sale 8AM-12AM - no details but past year's it's been a 30% discount. Here is the ad someone scanned - it was being given out today in store http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a41/twinkie567/IMG_3454.jpg
  2. Posted previously about this. Would prefer a non docking camera, digital/optical zoom, actual viewfinder (if possible), and minimal shutter lag. I like Olympus - my previous camera has survived much use and abuse since 2002.
  3. Another idea would be a better one for you and give the older one to your child. I think Alan would have trouble with the shutter lag on my old Olympus - it's tempermental.
  4. If you can find the right socks (that aren't excluded), the coupon is good for them. I got my husband some men's socks (their charter club brand) this way.
  5. I save a vacation day since I don't get off. My husband's consulting client is closed however :)
  6. I need to replace my 2MP Olympus - I hate the shutter lag. What's the best deal out there?
  7. The Apex DVD player we got on BF a few years ago works fine. The DVD/VCR we got last year from Daewoo needed a warantee repair (35.00). For 20.00 I wouldn't care so much.
  8. Yes. And it's still sitting in its box in the living room - an office desk chair from Office Depot. I think we've had it for 2 years, unopened!
  9. Yes, we have. Especially back in the days when they had free after rebate CD-ROM's!
  10. Big Lots. We just got one in our area. It's been loaded with toys over the past few months.
  11. Someone else I know said that Thrift Stores (Goodwill, Salvation Army) are quiet on Black Friday!
  12. Well, since 2002 we've taken Alan with us (now age 3). We got up around 5 though and weren't in line all night.
  13. The place my husband works for as a consultant is closed that day. My employer isn't, but I've got the request in and approved :)
  14. For Thomas the Tank engine trains (the wooden ones) - the best deal is to get them at Michaels or AC Moore when they put one of their coupons in the paper for 40% a regularly priced item - although not all Michaels have them. I think the Hot Wheels Rollup Raceway is a good toy - my son got it for his 3rd birthday and he was able to figure it out with a little help from me. It also folds up into a space not much bigger than 2 cars. Oddly enough, it only comes with 1 car though.
  15. The Apex DVD player I got a few years ago works fine. The Daewoo DVD/VCR I got last year had to be fixed under warantee for 35.00 (labor) as the DVD stopped working. If I didn't have to be within driving distance of the mfg's office in NJ, I wouldn't have bothered fixing it.
  16. Last year, I found our Shoprite had their black friday prices in the computer on Thanksgiving. So I just strolled in, got the DVD/VCR on sale and left - leaving one less stop for the next day!
  17. New digital camera to replace my 2MP Olympus. Wireless laptop (a real wish...my husband probably won't go for it.) Free after rebate CD's and jewel cases (no one seems to offer these anymore in the DVD/MP3 age).
  18. We have a Apex 49.00 DVD player from Circuit City a few years back. We also have an unopened desk chair from Office Depot from 2 years ago - we've never opened the box to put it together. We are also still using up the free CD's and CD cases we'd gotten for free, either on Black Friday or other free after rebate sales. However, the Daweoo DVD/VHS player we got last year at Shoprite (for 80.00) broke under warantee and we had to pay 35.00 to get it fixed.
  19. We got what we wanted. Shoprite's DVD/VCR (1 day early ) Most of the FAR or cheap stuff at Staples. 123CopyDVD at CompUSA (which was not worth the wait or price, it doesn't work!) Elton John DVD at Best Buy - a gift for the friend My First Leappad at Toys R'US (glad that it was still there after 8 AM) 1 of 2 10.00 of 10.00 coupons used at Macy's (the other will be used tommorrow) and a gymboree online order. I'd say the best deal was Macy's 6 pairs of nice socks for around 5.00. It's fun to try to get as close to 10.00 on the coupon as possible - and they don't make it easy on socks. I did that to Eddie Bauer once - 15 off 15, so I got 3 pair of socks for 1.50! Small needs this year. And a lot less rebates to send in. And my 2 year old son handled it all surprisingly well.

  21. Need to spend my other 10.00 off 10.00 at Macy's. Was too tired to figure how many socks to get that came as close to 10.00 as possible. (My husband got 6 pair for 5.00 using the coupon + 25% off sale).
  22. Different story. Got there after 8 for just one DVD (Elton John concert video - they still had a few left). Lines were long but moved fast.
  23. about to leave for staples. good luck out there :)
  24. What's the best deal this year for blank DVD's?
