Amazon has been disappointing to me too this year! It's like they are phoning it in - maybe they've gotten a little too big for their britches as my grandma would say?

Another vote for Dyson. I know they're not cheap, BUT - I've been using my original yellow Dyson for about 8 years now and the only thing I've ever had to fix was the extension hose because it got a tear in it, and I was able to order a replacement on Amazon really cheap .IT's been the best $399 I ever spent.

What Were the Stores Like Where You Were Shopping?
brandibug replied to bfaddict1977's topic in 2014
We went to Walmart on Thanksgiving evening with no real expectations. We didn't even bother showing up until around 6:45 because we weren't interested in any of the big ticket early bird items. It was crowded, but not too chaotic. The stores itself was a mess from being rearranged so much to accompany everything that was going on. I second that not a single employee that we asked a question to knew the answer. I honestly don't even know why they were there because every time I asked a question I received a "I don't know, let me go ask" response. I was mostly asking questions to see if they knew the answers. We discovered tons of "sold out" items hiding in the clothing department, which is where the checkouts were being funneled through and I guess people were discarding stuff as they talked themselves out of it. So we almost had more fun digging through the discards than actually shopping. IT was pretty fun though - since we were mostly there to people watch and buy whatever we could we didn't have an issues. -
Don't feel bad Melia......I'm CST and I'm still kind of feeling overwhelmed at online start times...it seems like there are so many who are just getting earlier and earlier so it's hard to keep track.

I'm with you! It's getting more difficult to keep up with it all.

My thoughts exactly, Bopeep. Amazon.com should be required to be the seller in order to price match, IMO. That's how it is at Best Buy when they match Amazon. They've always checked to make sure that it wasn't a 3rd party seller.

They look like they're the regular sized bears to me.

I think these are going to be pretty hot items for Christmas this year. I know lots of people who have this on their wish list. It would be great if they were all available online.

Mall to fine stores for not opening on Thanksgiving
brandibug replied to brynnfromtheblock's topic in 2014
Now that's the type of people to work for...although it stinks for them, but at least they'll be together. -
This is for nothing more than attention. It almost makes me wish that camping out were no longer allowed and people would get run off until an hour before store opening. It's kind of ridiculous. I wouldn't want people loitering around the entrance of my store for days.

Walmart has Goodyears on page 37 of their BF ad that was just released.

Walmart's GoPro deal is online. Woot!
-
Wow! I hope several of these are available online since I'm an online-only BF shopper. There are some killer deals here. I wish we knew which ones would be online as well as in store.

Target has the GoPro in their BF ad!

Target to start their Black Friday sale on Thanksgiving Day!
brandibug replied to magickallight's topic in 2014
Very excited about the free online shipping. I can't believe their ad is 38 pages! Go Target. -
So much good advice here. Definitely stay focused - it's easy to get distracted by other things that show up on sale. Make your hot list and have tunnel vision for those things. Make sure your account with each store is up to date (address and everything)

I hate the payment question. I get why they do it - because you aren't going to do the math to figure out how much you're paying for the car. I always inform them that I'm not buying the car in monthly payments, I'm buying it for a price and paying that off in monthly payments, so let's talk about that price. Sometimes I wish car shopping worked like everything else - just walk into the store, pick out what you want and it's the price that it is and leave.

oh yes, I always end up buying for myself or the household. It never fails! At least I'm getting good deals though.

DMN: 10 million fewer people have a payday fall on Black Friday this year
brandibug replied to bigjimslade's topic in 2014
Ouch, our regularly scheduled payday is on BF, but I'm assuming that will happen early? Or maybe Monday. Guess I need to figure that out. -
Do you do ALL of your Holiday Shopping on Black Friday?
brandibug replied to magickallight's topic in 2014
No way! I shop all year long! I usually already have 1 or 2 gifts for Christmas by March or April. When I see something and it's on sale, I buy it. I have never understood the folks who wait until the last month to start shopping. -
oh snap, I already replied to this. oops....was up late last night.

I was assuming they'd wait until after the Veteran's Day sales

oh my word! ha ha While I would love to see some $$ off the cameras themselves, I would settle for a sweet deal on a large bundle of accessories to go with the camera. Perhaps a camera + accessories bundle that made the extras almost free or something. With everything I want with my camera, I'm adding an extra $100 easily.

That's good news! I don't usually shop Target online either, but I might just have to this year.
