I think it all depends on the store. I am always able to use mine at my favorite store. But when I went to a different store I was told that I couldn't use it on sale items. And this was last year too...so I don't think it is something new. I take it as the manager at my store wants to move the merchandise out of the store.

I doubt you can use the code on-line on the sale items. I use it in the store and the manager allows it. Some won't though. It doesn't hurt to try.

I have a hard time seeing that using a 15% coupon is taking advantage of them. Their stuff is adorable but overpriced in my opinion. So getting 15% is in no way hurting their business. As things are right now I think they would be glad to let someone use their little discount to get people to shop in their stores or on-line. There is nothing that bugs me more is trying to get someone to feel bad for asking for a coupon or coupon code on a deal website.

I usually give mine a yankee candle every year since she likes them. I made her snowmen before too. She has them on display in her shop year round so I guess she liked them.

It's such a sad situation. Our walmart was more crowded than usual today. But this year they had lines and gave out tickets for the big seller items. Ours is also a 24 hour walmart and that would make a difference in the rush to get in the store. Nothing is worth fighting over.
