    #24 fan - Not a Jimmie fan

     

    I was rooting for Harvick, or even Hamlin. I was excited when they brought Jimmie on board, yet my enthusiasm turned to dislike with each car, team member, etc., they took from Jeff to make Jimmie better. I do like Chad Knaus, though. He can't lie worth a darn no matter how much he tries.

     

    I'd rather go to Martinsville. I think they ruined Bristol with the repaving.

     

    At least the year is over, so I don't have to be nice about Edwards any more. He was pushing #24 at Daytona and I promised I would be nice all year if he didn't hang him out to dry. That's been harder than being nice to Biffle last year!

    Be sure to check Walmart, as well. My dd bought her phone there. She got a smart phone and the 'Walmart plan' which was unlimited data and texting for $19.95. This was for Alltel, however the lady there said that they have special plans and features for all of their carriers.

    When purchasing a laser printer, be aware that some have the drum and toner cartridge separate. Many have chips that determine how many pages a cartridge has printer and if the cartridge is OEM, as well. Konica-Minolta is like that, for sure. ($89 for toner. $139. for drum. The drum needs replaced every third toner change.) I don't know which others.

     

    I do know HP does not do this. My BW LaserJet was $61 on eBay and cartridges run around $40 and last me, for a small business, 6 months. I bought an HP inkjet all-in-one a few months ago when my fax died, so I have both. It's (in huge letters on the box) claim to fame was that ink was cheaper than laser. We'll see...

    ~My family's favorite ~

     

    Pecan Pie Bars

     

    Crust

     

    1/2 cup sugar

    1/2 teaspoon salt

    2 1/2 cups flour

    1 cup butter or margarine, softened

     

    Preheat oven to 350. Spray 10X15 pan with cooking spray. Beat all ingredients on medium speed until fine crumbs. Press into pan and bake 20 to 30 minutes or until it just barely begins to brown.

     

    Filling

     

    4 large eggs

    1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

    3 tablespoons butter or margarine

    1 1/2 cups sugar

    1 1/2 cups Karo syrup

    2 1/2 cups pecan halves

     

    Beat liquid ingredients until blended. Add pecans and pour over hot crust. Bake 30 minutes. cool thoroughly and cut into squares. (Smaller squares are best as this is rich. Plus, I've always cut into diamond shapes, like baklava)
