  1. My first grandchild is due Christmas Eve, so that definitely influences the choices. Target Britax Marathon Plus Convertible Car Seat $199 Summer Infant Full View Baby Monitor with 5" Screen $99 BOB Revolution SE Single Jogger Stroller $289 Dyson V6 Motorhead Cordless Vacuum $249.99 That leaves $163.01, which I would spend at Petco for new scratchers and climbers for my kitty friends at the Humane Society.
  2. Don't be surprised if shipping is quite slow. Last year, my BF order arrived 2 days before Christmas
  3. It's back up for me and order went through. Wheeeeee!
  4. Yes. Going for the desktop for a friend. Error message and 889 in queue for chat
  5. Not brick and mortar, I've had fairly good luck at Moosejaw.com with their pre-Christmas sales. (Plus I find their humor hilarious. One order, they sent wrapped in paper with kisses all over it. Another included a car window decal of a moose.)
  6. Blue raincoat still available 2X and 3X http://www.womanwithin.com/clothing/Blue-Sky-Rain-Jacket.aspx?PfId=317011&DeptId=26267&ProductTypeId=1&StyleNo=0001 This is cute! Reversible Tote $1.99 http://www.womanwithin.com/clothing/Reversible-organic-cotton-tote.aspx?PfId=199415&DeptId=26267&ProductTypeId=1
  7. Thanks for the hope, Deb! Maybe the TV fairies will smile on me and let DH get his TV. (Which he told me he wanted too late to do anything about, by the way...)
  8. 500+ on wait list. Snowball's chance where?
  9. I make these every year. They taste like pecan pie, but WAY less messy. http://www.justataste.com/2011/11/pecan-pie-bars/ http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_n2M31R4Iv58/S83Op1QbKMI/AAAAAAAABJs/5iy9_xduLlo/s400/Bake+Sale+080.1.jpg
  10. Dd and her friend begged me to go to WM for Black Friday a few years ago before our WM was 24 hr. Dd HAD to have the Texas Longhorns sweatshirt. I didn't want to go. (Stand outside in North Dakota? No thanks!) They said I could wait in the car. We got there and no one was in line at 3AM. I watched over them, took them hot cocoa and blankets I'd warmed in the car, etc. Shortly more folks showed up and lined up right behind them. I kept checking on them as it was below 0. When it was finally time, the WM workers opened the far doors, so all that time waiting was wasted, plus no Longhorn shirts, just in-state teams. I took a dejected dd home and ordered it online. They did get the other things they were after, however.
  11. I love the camaraderie of the folks here when the online ads go live. It's hours of boredom followed by minutes of frenzy, helping those who are having trouble, reading success stories. It makes your fellow members feel like family.
  12. We've had good luck at David's Bridal. The junior year, dd had er heart set on a bronze dress. Low and behold, they had one on their clearance rack on the first stop of the first outing. That day was a surprise clearance sale (in February) and all clearance dresses were $19.99. Senior year, she saw the dress she wanted in a magazine and nothing else would do. Off to David's Bridal we went. They have the dress in chocolate brown in her size and yellow in the next size smaller. They couldn't order it because it would take 4 months () to get it in and prom was 3 1/2 months away. I was told all stores got the brown, however the light colors were randomly. They looked and told me which stores got the pool color (pastel aqua) that she wanted. I called them both. One never got pool, however at the other store, the manager really went the extra mile to get her the dress quickly. The one thing I liked about David's was that they note every dress sold. They make sure that if you buy a dress there, no one else from that school can buy the same dress. As far as expenses, when I saw that she wanted $300 shoes, I said I'd by the dress and the garter, however any other expenses were hers. Now that she is graduating college, she wants to sell the dresses.
  13. DD22 went to JCP tonight and bought a sweater for $2 and pajama pants for $1. Her friend bought 7 pair of boots for $35. At those prices, I just may have to check it out tomorrow.
  14. I have this one as well. I agree that it works very well. The only caveat is that it bumped up my electricity bill substantially. YMMV
  15. I have the Asus Transformer and love it. The fact that it can become a netbook with the docking station was the selling factor (sometimes, you've just got to mouse). When reading reviews, the fact it had dual cameras was a big sticking point. Personally, I haven't cared enough to figure out how to use either of them. I'm sure dd would love that feature, though. I can't tell you about sensitivity comparison, because this one is the only one I've used. It gets me where I want to go typically with one touch.
  16. There was this poor guy at WM tonight. He has 2 black eyes, a cast from half-way past his elbow down to 2 fingers splinted, and his head wrapped in a bandage. He didn't look like he should have been out of the hospital, but he was after a reader.
  17. Only full size sheet sets were left when I got to them. Luckily for me, that's just what I wanted. I missed out on the towels, though. A couple of people grabbed cart loads of them. I was stuck behind an enormous stinky man waiting for X-Box games.
  18. I looked everywhere and found it in FAQ's: Can you ship to a P.O. Box or a Military address such as an A.P.O.? We are unable to ship to P.O. Box addresses, nor can we deliver to A.P.O. or F.P.O. addresses. We recommend using a friend or family member's physical address for delivery
  19. I did research on this tablet before I bought it. What sold me was the docking station. It really adds to the battery life and makes the tablet into a netbook. I had to return the first one I bought. The power button gave up after 2 months of infrequent use. The only way I could turn it on was to plug it in. New one works great. It does come with Kindle software. If you want to watch movies/videos, you'll need earbuds or something. It isn't very loud at the highest setting. All in all, I'm happy with the purchase at regular price. HTH Call me easily entertained, but I get mesmerized by the live wallpaper on occasion. I downloaded a free one that is a night sky. Every so often you'll see a falling star, space ship, ET or a witch go by.
  20. My favorite thing about Black Friday is the excitement while shopping online. I love "camping out" at GottaDeal to see when/if the doorbusters go live. The virtual pats on the back for successes and commiseration of near-misses is much more fun than standing in line outside in North Dakota. Once that is completed, we go out and hit the sales.
