  1. I did have an experience with BB where I ordered a camcorder online and they sent me a digital camera instead. I called them and told them of the error. They replaced the order to send the camcorder. I asked them how to send back the digital camera. The CSR phone rep asked me if I was "willing" to keep the digital camera for $50. Hell yes!!!! It was a $300 camera! So I got a new camcorder and new digital camera for around $250.
  2. Not to get all politically but isn't that Obama's philosophy? Best Buy can afford it so someone who has less should be entitled to keep it?

You are getting political and it's not necessary in this thread. The political threads are that way. >>>>>>>>>>>

As far as the question in the OP, I would take it back in and pay for it. I wouldn't want the Karma from keeping it and not paying for it.

  3. right now they have the Lowest Prices of the Season (LPOTS) sale going on at Kohl's until Saturday I believe. I'm torn as to whether I should wait it out until BF to purchase some of the toys. FP toys are right now 45% off and I want to buy some of the Imaginext dinos for my little guy. However, if BF sale prices on toys will be better, I'll definitely wait.

so here's my question - does anyone know how the toy prices compare between LPOTS and BF????

    THANKS!

I would buy them now because from what I've seen in the past, they only put them on sale for 50% off. I would prefer to pay 5% less and not deal with the crowds....that is unless you are planning on going to Kohl's for other stuff.

I did most of my Xmas shopping in there last year so for me it was worth dealing with the crowds. Other years, I bought ahead of time.

  4. Last year I called the stores a head of time and price adjusted everywhere I shopped except for Walmart because they wouldn't give me a straight answer so I didn't chance it. I price adjusted at babies'r'us, target and toys'r'us. It was so easy. My hubby and I went shopping with our lists two days before Thanksgiving and then on BF I went with a friend and strolled right in with my receipts and price adjusted everything. It was great!!! I didn't have to lug gifts around because they were already at home hidden from the kiddos. Definately going to do that this year as well. Target was the best because it is always crazy at Target on BF.

This is what I do as well especially if it's an item that I think may sell out. I don't do it at Target as much as I used to because Target now does their 2 day sales and seem to be well stocked. I definitely do this at TRU. I would rather stand in line at the CS desk and get the PA. Also, I'm sure to get what I want.

  5. If all you are getting are the TV's, I would just stand in line and when you get to the register tell them what you want and pay for them. More than likely, they would have someone to help out. I would be very surprised if they did not. I also agree with taking someone with you. It could never hurt to have help.
  6. The dollhouse I want for DD5 are different brands between the two but extremely similar in make. TRU is $10 dollars higher but I have $10.00 off if you spend $100. The other things I want to get will be over $75.00 so I get a $10.00 gift card for that. So if I buy the extra furniture and a few other things first I will get the dollhouse $10.00 cheaper than at Walmart. (did that make sense??)

If it's the same 2 dollhouses I've been looking at, I think the one at TRU is much cuter. I've also seen a very cute one at Buy.com and another one on the Penney's website. The price point is about the same (from $80-$100 range) on all of them. It's just a matter of what your preference would be.

  7. I post on Craigslist or ask people that I know have kids younger than mine if they would like the toys. I have 2 great nieces and they get a lot of the toys from my DD. However, I like to buy for them and I don't want to inundate my nephew and his wife with only hand me downs.
  8. Exactly....which is why it's totally unnecessary to drag children along. There will always be other days and other sales.

The point I'm trying to make is to each their own. I don't see how it's anyone else's business if someone wants to bring their child. Conversely, if someone wants to leave their children at home that is there business as well.

If someone is that focused on an item, that they would not pay attention to their surroundings...well to me that's the bigger fool than someone who would NOT want to spend time with their child(ren).

However, I've yet to see (knock on wood) any of the craziness in my city that I've heard of elsewhere. I guess the insanity depends on where you live.

  9. are you crazy? I could never shop with kids that day....good luck

Wow, kind of harsh. Don't you think?

Just because you wouldn't doesn't mean others should be criticized for taking their child(ren) especially if they can not have a sitter. I've taken my daughter many times and it's worked out fine.

  10. Yes, they do. If you buy the items within two weeks (I believe it's two weeks), they will do a PA. You may want to check with your local store to be sure they do indeed follow this. I've done it the past couple of years and it's so much easier.
  11. By Wednesday night, TRU generally has their store set for BF. I buy all the stuff I want on Wednesday and then get a price adjustment on Friday. I have done this the past two years and it's worked like a charm.
