My local WalMart had even more...I was surprised thought they would be GONE! -
I agree. I only shop there when there's a good sale.

Delaware is tax free everyday, all day of course...:)

Blame it on the economy. If Im not mistaken, Walmart said it will open up its Christmas shops early also. People have said they will start shopping early due to the economy.

How many people are on your list??? Who are they???
angelbabymommy replied to jarerice's topic in 2008
Last year, I shopped for my 6 year old daughter and I spent about $700. This year I have a baby who will be 5 months at Christmas, so I'll spend about $850. WOW...I really misinterpreted the question. I buy for my mom, dad, brother, and my friends' two children, we let the kids exchange gifts. And then my family does a secret santa, so everyone else is taken care of that way. And so I buy for whoever I pick. -
Christmas Catalogs---What Have You Gotten So Far??
angelbabymommy replied to f1rstclass's topic in 2008
I only received abc distributing also. I also signed up for the Sears Wishbook and eToys catalog. I looked at the virtual Kmart Toy Catalog. Is the JCPenney catalog still $5? I guess, I'll order that one too. I just really get them for my daughter to look through a zillion times until about the week before Christmas when they're all worn out from how many times its been looked at and marked up. -
My daughter is 6, so I pretty much know what she likes, so I go ahead and start shopping. I will also let her write and letter to Santa later. Ive been hitting the nail on the nose for the past 6 years, so no worries for me.

I go to the outlet and shop, but it doesnt open at midnight (I wish it did). I go to the Galleria Mall in Philadelphia. For me, its cool tho. I would never go to my local malls because EVERYONE from Maryland and Philadelphia come to Delawaare for the tax free shopping and its WAAAAY crowded (the malls open up at 3am) and the lines are super long. So in Philadelphia, its not as crowded and the lines arent as long, so Im satisfied.

Im trying to find deals that I can now. Black Friday is the day I shop just for my kids, so Im looking for toy deals now. Ive only gotten one thing so far, as I have to auction the things I want. But I got her the pink VSmile Cyber pocket $35, its originally $70.

For as long as Ive been shopping, we've had no snow in Delaware, but it can get really cold. Last year was not that bad. I doubt we'll get snow, but, hey who knows.

In the past 6 years, Ive had 3 seasonal jobs, but I dont plan on it this year or any year after this (if I can help it).
-
Im the same way....I use my debit card and take about $30 cash only for food and a quick drink throughout my shopping trip.
-
I will be spending the same, if not more. I save throughtout the year, so Im not really affected by the economy.

places to hide things from your kids at christmas! ( no kids )
angelbabymommy replied to sdigman6's topic in 2008
I store wrapped gifts in my mom's basement in trash bags. I put them out Christmas Eve when I know my daughter is sleep; she believes in Santa still, so I go along and the look on her face Christmas morning is GREAT! -
I wouldnt even attempt going to my local ToyRUs...its the only one in my area and I can just imagine how long the lines will be. We stopped there last year AFTER the early morning sales (around 1ish) and the store was STILL packed.

When I had my oldest daught, who's 6, thats when I started shopping. I used to take about $300. Of course, as the years go by Ive brung more. Two years ago, it was $500, last year $750, this year, I plan on bringing about the same (maybe $850). Like another person said, I dont do the big ticket items, I just shop for clothes, toys and small pieces of jewelry for my daughter and they can add up.

I was thinking the same thing. Im also hoping its something different. My Little Pony Sounds good or like, Polly Pocket.
