I have heard many horror stories about buy.com that unless they offered it free I wouldn't jump on a deal with them. I know that some people have had good experiences but those with horror stories are enough to scare me away! Sorry about your problems!

We also bought a SmartParts, but the 7" frame from CC. It is wonderful but we preloaded the SD cards and put them in it before we gifted it to the parents. SD cards aren't that expensive anymore and card readers are also pretty cheap. Look for resolution above all, that is my $.02.

I am sure if you contact Leapfrog, they shouldn't have any problem sending you a new cover if you explain that yours didn't come with one. Most companies are good about that (or they should be)
