DS will be 6 in January...I wouldn't get him anything really elaborate, I see Amazon has a tub of them for like $14, so probably just something like that...he's already getting a bunch of Legos for Christmas that I'm afraid will all end up mixed together, and I really don't want to have to separate a million Knex things from them, too... Thanks for all of the info (including letting me know they are passable, LOL!) Guess he can have them, if he wants them!
-
OK, so my oldest ds came home from school and wants Knex, because they play with them in his kindergarten class...we have a 5 month old, and I know they have small parts, but my boys play with Legos, and we will be extra cautious...but I thought Knex had magnets, and I won't risk that with my baby who will be getting to the point where everything goes in her mouth...but before I say no completely, can someone tell me if they have magnets or not? TIA!

Thank you!! It would be totally worth $10 to me to have one less store to go to, LOL!

I like the deal on the Garmin Nuvi! If I was going to spend $97 at Target on the TomTom, I'd rather spend another $30 and get the Garmin, and I probably have a better chance of getting the Garmin... Any idea if Dell usually has their deals available on Thanksgiving? I'm hoping to be out at midnight shopping (of course, because of the deals I'm hearing about here ), but I don't want to haul the laptop, or leave that in the car either (and dh probably wouldn't let me out the front door with it anyway, LOL)...

Actually, the ad scan shows the word "doorbusters" all over the place...may not be a certain time, but that's what they're calling them...I'm hoping that that doesn't mean that the items I'm hoping to price adjust later on, won't be out on the floor until BF, but I'm afraid that's exactly what it means...

You're awesome! Thanks!

Holy schmoly!! I know where I'M going to be on BF...awesome ad!! Nice article, Brad!! Thanks for all of your hard work!!

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2009

The TomToms are only 30% off here, too...well, the smaller one is 50% off, so it's $99.xx, but as small as that one is, I'd rather just see if the other one goes lower... -
Cool! If I get the Zhu Zhu pets, I'll trade someone for their survival kit!! My oldest (boy) has already said that they are "girls toys," and my only girl is only about 5 months old, so by the time she is old enough to want one, they will have gone the way of Furbys...

Do you keep track of how much $$ you spend on Christmas?
stacya replied to angied64084's topic in 2009
we are spending less than usual...we are doing $10 Christmas with my BIL and SIL's kids and our kids (she got a great deal on Target clearance, and it was a challenge to me to meet it...DONE!)...my other nieces and nephew that I buy for, it's $30 each...dh and I don't buy for each other because we'd rather buy for our kids...we have a third child this year, but since it's her first Christmas, and she doesn't need much, she won't be getting much (she will only be 6 months)...I overbuy for my oldest, but save many things for his birthday that falls about 4 weeks after Christmas, so that's how I justify that...we buy for each set of parents, and other than that, no one else...this year, I've gotten 90% certificates from restaurant.com, getting free photoboooks, and used my $15 Kodak gift to get photo mugs, and that's it for all of them, too...must.be.frugal... -
I think my dh considered one of these for our boys, but we knew they'd like the characters, and it is a good starter pole...as far as my saying that it may be in need of repair after being used for a day, I only meant that the line might need to be redone because of the boys getting it hung up on various things...the character ones may not look great to an avid fisherman, but I've never had an issue of them being cheaply made or falling apart, and they have always been able to cast them without a problem...and we wouldn't consider spending more $$ without knowing whether or not our kids would even be interested in fishing more than once or twice...
-
We got our kids the kiddy ones, but we also no longer live on the Gulf Coast, so we're not fishing off of jetties or anything like that...I don't know that for a 3 yo that I would invest a lot of $$ though, because my boys are almost 6 and just turned 4, and I can't tell you how many times they cross their lines or get hung up on something...and we had to have them practice their casting before we took them, because I can totally picture my kids (esp my youngest boy), throwing the whole thing into the water!! They've even hooked TREES in the AIR while casting, though not too many trees on piers or jetties, I know...but I think you get the idea! I would hate to spend lots of $$ on a pole for them, only to have it destroyed, thrown in, or needing repair after each use...he's going to get older, and he can have a good pole then, kwim? For now, IMO, I'd get him the cheaper one so he can practice...and seriously, if he's fishing off of piers and jetties, do you REALLY want him fishing with something capable of hauling in something huge??? He's THREE!! LOL

Some of their stuff is way overpriced, but on the average, when they have their "lowest prices of the season" sales, which seem to happen probably about once a month, LOL, the prices ARE good, and personally, I never shop unless I have a pick-a-day or a % off thing anyway, so to me, the prices are very reasonable...though, I am a cardholder as well, so I don't know that I'd feel the same way if I wasn't getting the "perks," kwim?

$99 Blu-ray in Target's weekly ad
stacya replied to angelashly's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I just mentioned this to my dh a little while ago when I saw it, because he's been wanting one, too, but he wants some wireless one that you can hook up to the computer to get DVDs sent directly to it from Netflix or something like that...I myself am electronically illiterate, so I probably got the explanation wrong, but I think that's what he said...in any event, I know he said wireless, LOL! -
Well, that explains a lot then, huh? Obviously they usually aren't very good, LOL!
-
No kidding!! Thanks!! This won't be my first stop, either, after it has been for many years...about the only thing I see that I might like is the iRobot Roomba...any input? Definitely going to check out reviews before I even consider wasting time on one thing...

Thanks for the info! K-Mart has the double one in their BF ad for $19.99, and I will probably get that one...he had the regular costume this year, and he was scaring little girls because the mask was just THAT intense, LOL! And when he wasn't wearing the mask because he was too hot, he looked like a ninja...very cool! If I see them for $1.99 though, I will be getting them for him to hold him over until Christmas, LOL!! Great deal! -
Not the same outlet center, but ours is about 35 minutes from where I live, and I left my house at 10:30 because I wanted to make sure I got a place to park without having an issue...

What light sabers were on clearance? We have three, one is totally broken, and my youngest ds is just DYING to get the double one like his favorite Darth Maul uses... -
Um yeah, I'll take three, what a deal...OMG...no wonder I hadn't heard about this before!
-
REALLY?? And you withheld this information? LOL
-
Last year was my first night out at midnight...usually just get up at 3:30 and go...much better doing it that way...I didn't go to too many places last year at midnight (just a couple of stores in the outlets here), and then I had to be at Kohl's for their 4 am opening...I got there at 2:30, after killing all kinds of time, and waited outside from about 2:45 on...I think if I'd been shopping continuously, I'd have been OK, but by the time 6 rolled around, I was exhausted...but then again, I was also about eight weeks pregnant, so that had something to do with it, I'm sure! Haven't decided if I'll do midnight again this year or not...depends on what else is in ads...if there is nothing I need until K-mart opens at 6 (I think that's when they open anyway), then I may skip the midnight thing and get some sleep, because this BF, I have a 5 month old!!
-
I would think it's a holiday thing...I've never seen it before...certainly someone would've mentioned it before now if it had been around for too long...
-
I went to Silver Sands one BF several years ago, and just going through the parking lot, I swore I'd never do it again (this was before midnight openings, so this was probably around 9 or 10 in the morning), and by the time I left, I said I'd do it again every year, because the deals I got were SOOOOOOOO good!! Now I live in PA, so the midnight openings are pretty cold here!!

Thanks for all of that info, Marcster...I was leaning toward the Magellan from one of the bf ads, but it sounds like I should be considering a Garmin...very helpful!!
