[Tickets?]

I live in a very small community and travel 1/2 hr. to get our Wal-Mart. They have handed out tickets for the bigger items the last couple of years. Like someone said if it can't fit in a cart then you get a ticket and then pay for it and go out to a trailer to pick it up. And they hand out tickets to some select items that they know are extremely hot items and they know they don't have enough to go around. So the people at the front that have waited the longest get a ticket.

I like the deal on the portable dvd player. If I call my local Ace Hardware dealer will they tell me if they are going to have that item? I got a flyer today and there name and address were printed on the back of the flyer so that means they are doing Black Friday deals, right?

If they have the $199 laptops will they hand out tickets for this item? If so, when do they usually start handing out the tickets, is it in line before 5AM? Could I go to the store like at midnight and get a ticket? I just want to increase my chances of getting one.

Thank you, bpr! My husband will love it when I tell him he has to stand in line too. I will tell him to stand away from me and not talk to me, that shouldn't be that hard as he will not be too happy being there. Oh well!

Portable DVD players needed here too. Two of them to be exact. I am torn now between Ace Hardware and Best Buy. The ACE store near us is locally owned, I think, so don't know if they will have a BF or not. Or if they will even have them. Best Buy is two hours away from me and not sure yet that I will even be able to purchase two of them by myself. I have always done Wal-Mart on BF but to get a good deal on the players, I thought I would shop around but this is confusing.

I noticed the one at Best buy also and that has the biggest screen so far. And the ad says it comes with the charger and such included. I think the one at Wal-Mart I would have to purchase that stuff seperately. But with the Best Buy one I would have to travel two hours to get it. I have a week to decide. This is so confusing!!!!

[How does the BB black friday work?]

About this ticket policy. If my DH and I go and get in line can we both get a ticket? If not, can I get two players when I get inside and hand them my one ticket? I need two Port. DVD players and if I travel two hours to get to a Best Buy I want to make sure I can walk out of there with both of them. So any advice is helpful. Thanks!

My MIL thinks I'm crazy, but that's OK. My Mom usually goes with and my sister will go sometimes. I have got up and went alone, shopped, came home and no one was even awake yet. I was thinking about going to a Best Buy that is 2 hours away and my DH said he would drive me but that he is NOT going in the store.

But to answer the question, top of my list is portable dvd players, I need two of them. I think I am going to settle for the ones at Wal-Mart. I haven't decided yet though. To get any of the others I would have to travel anywhere between 1 to 2 1/2 hours and with some of the stores opening at 3AM that is just too early for me.

 

DH and I are getting away Friday and Saturday to do most of our shopping. But I will have some things on my list for Black Friday, just so I have an excuse to go.

I was going to suggest Bath and Body also for the girls on your list. The have little items and gifts sets for around $10-15. Old navy is good for bargain tables too. A lot of stores have areas just for stocking stuffers that are fairly cheap.

[MIL wants new cookware?]

My MIL wants some new cookware. I haven't bought cookware is awhile. Was wondering what was nice. We will have about $150 combined to get her some. Any suggestions?

We are getting our children portable DVD players, how about one of them for the 8 yr. old.

 

Now the 2 yr. old is kinda hard. Does it have to be one big toy. How about a doll with a stroller or high chair?

When I'm stuck between toys I check out the reviews at Toys R Us(Amazon.com). I see what parents thoughts were about the toy and that usually helps some.

[Walmart is going to open before 5 am on BF]

The 24 hr. WM here doesn't close they just have paper wrapped around the pallets. I find the pallets that contain the stuff I absolutely must have. I stand at one and have my Mom stand at another. When its 5AM they just let whoever is nearby rip the paper off and grab. Then I move on to the other must have's on my list.

 

It is a mad house but I LOVE IT!!!! My son went with me two years ago (he's 21) but that one time was enough for him, LOL! I love going and will go just for one thing.

OK, I just seen at Wal-Mart that they are offering a portable DVD for $49.87 but Sears and K-Mart are offering one for $69.99. I have heard of the brand that both K-Mart and Sears are offering but not the one at Wal-Mart. My question is which one would you go for?
