  1. Which one is better the WalMart $198 or this one? If it was offered online I would go for it but I live in the boonies and would have to travel two hours to a Best Buy and that's not happening.
  2. The only thing my daughter wants is a laptop so I am waiting for Black Friday. Not to mention, I love Black Friday!!!!
  3. Consider it done! Five stars and a comment to boot!

    All Lanes Open

Ours were all open this morning, my son and I ran up so he could get the HP printer for college. I picked up some jeans for DH for work. But I know yesterday when I got on line they said Rustler were a secret sale item for $5.00 as I sat right there and read it to my DH but this morning they rang up $7.50 and I came home to check the site and it said $7.50, I know they changed that price. Grrr! But $7.50 is still a good price and they are only for work so if DH is OK with it, I am too. But still......
  5. I think I'm staying home. There is nothing worth getting up early for, I am so disappointed. Nintendo DS was one major thing I was hoping to see marked down and it is just listed for regular price. I think if they are hoping that Black Friday gives them a boost in sales they are wrong!
  6. Unless Wal-Mart has a fantasic flyer, I get to sleep in. Nobody has anything that is jumping out at me. DH and I are going away for a weekend to Christmas shop the week after Black Friday so I am hoping if they poor sales for Black Friday they might be offering some nice ones that weekend to make up for it.
  7. I am looking for a deal on Nintendo DS but all the ads so far have not impressed me. Black Friday prices are the same price as Wal-Mart has them right now.
  8. I am also pretty sure that is who it was too, as I had just checked my posts and found her. Mugglesmom it is!
  9. I would like to see Nintendo DS in an ad this year. What do you think my chances are?
  10. My plans, well let's see, I am 20 minutes from Wal-Mart BUT if they don't drop this whole "we are suing thing" then I am traveling 2 hours to go to Target!!!!!
  11. Found this article online on one of my local TVnews pages: Head Online For Early 'Black Friday' Peek Sites Posting Ads Early Despite Retailer Crackdown POSTED: 7:16 pm EDT October 18, 2007 Sales planned for the day after Thanksgiving are already popping up on many Web sites. But at least one retailer, Wal-Mart, has reportedly threatened to sue several Web sites that leak its big "Black Friday" deals. The day after Thanksgiving has traditionally become known as "Black Friday" because of its huge potential for retailers to grow holiday season revenue and thus cross over from operating "in the red" to "in the black." A successful "Black Friday" promotion could make a huge dent into a holiday sales goals for major companies. Consumers often benefit with massive sales that may start as early at 5 a.m. but last only a few hours. Major retailers generally do not release their "Black Friday" sales list until much closer to the day after Thanksgiving. But in recent years, certain Web sites have posted the deals online as early as October. Gottadeal.com bills itself as an official Black Friday deal site. If you go to the site now and click on "Black Friday," you will already find sales information for two retailers: Ace Hardware and Harbor Freight. The site even offers an e-mail sign-up to alert you of new "Black Friday" deals when they are posted. Plus, the site touts more than 130,000 online members who post sales comments on its message boards. *********.com is another site that offers a sneak peak at "Black Friday" deals into addition to other sales information. By searching for "Black Friday" information now, you'll find deals posted for Sears and Ace Hardware that are "rumored." In fact, the Sears link also has a statement that reads, "Possibly not a true ad due to some non-existent items." Harbor Freight's "Black Friday" ad is listed as well. This site also offers e-mail sign-up and coupons.
  12. AquaDots are a big seller here in PA where I'm at. In fact, Wal-Mart can't keep them on the shelves, they even reduced their price from $24.97 to $16.88. This is one tactic I have heard mentioned on the radio. Stores are going to offer price cuts on items throughout the Christmas buying season not just on Black Friday to keep people coming in. Anyone else hear this?
  13. Wow how cool, Congrats. Yes, did you get everything you wanted? Update us, please!
  14. I bought a Chloe but am having second thoughts on giving it to my DD. Racerfan- I pm'ed you! Are you still lurking on here? I am giving Racerfan the first chance at my Bratz doll but if she doesn't want it, I will sell it to anyone for just cost and shipping. Alot of people have them listed on Ebay already. Someone actually has Yasmin listed for $94.99. I think that's a bit much for a $20 Doll.
  15. I am new to this site this year and I thought it was ran really good. I do agree that if some price comparison per store on some major items be put up that would be great. I was looking for portable dvd players this year and I live in NW PA where I am no where near a Best Buy, Target, Circuit City and such but if I had a price comparison with Wal-Mart and all the other stores and seen that one out beat another I just might travel somewhere to get a deal. IKWIM! Thanks for everything you all did this year. You have alot of time invested in this site and it shows. Kelly
  16. I have only got one thing so far, my DH and I went to TRU shopping and I got one of the Dora dolls for $5.99(because I spent over $50) to put in our local Toy Drive bin. But I will have my children both pick something out for kids their age(9 & 11) and donate them too.
  17. Good experience here too. Had a little bit of a time finding things but overall it was nice. Wal-Mart is the only store real close to us(20 minutes). Nearest other stores like KMart, Staples, Sears, Old Navy and JCPenneys are all over a hour away. Too get to a Best Buy or circuit City I would have to travel over two hours. So unless I want to camp-out(too cold here in PA for that)or wake up at 2:00AM(not my cup of tea either) I am pretty much stuck with just Wal-Mart. But that's alright DH and I had already went to Erie shopping the week before so we had about 75% of what we wanted bought.
  18. Nothing, I had a great BF. I took my 21 yr. old son and he brought his two-way radios. I told him what to get and I went around getting other stuff we communicated if we seen something or had trouble finding something. He also stayed with my cart at WM while I went to ACE to get in line to try and score on the portable DVD players there. I also had the DVD player that was on sale in the cart at WM in case I missed out at ACE. But I was the seventh in line and first out of the store. So I radioed down to my son to put the WM ones back. So I scored everything I was after.

    Disorganized!!!

Our Wal-Mart handed out maps that had just a few top items listed on the map. But when I looked for the DVD players where they said they were on the map they weren't there. Oh, we had to move them, said an assiociate. ARGH! Then why the map. I asked where a couple of other things were and no one had a clue. I ened up asking people that already had the product in the cart where they were. It was very unorganized. They only had a handful of $398 computers and fists starting flying but it got under control real quick thanks to some fast moving employees so I give them that much credit.
  20. I got the DVD player at ACE hardware. I did put two of the Wal-Mart ones in my cart as they opened at 5AM. Then my son waited there while I got in line at ACE. I was 7th in line and they had 50 players. But I was the first to get them as I was paying in cash and got to go to the head cashier. So I was in and out by 2 minutes after 7:00am. Then I radioed down to my son at Wal-Mart to put the other two back. SCORE!!!!!
  21. These are great tips! I always befriend a couple people. If you notice someone standing by a pallet you want but you are already standing by another, ask them if they want what you got and tell them if they grab two you will too. Our store doesn't hand out maps so if I see something in someones cart I will ask them where they got it. They will almost always tell you. I smile and and try and be as helpful as I can. Because some people can be such jerks on this day. Just remember to look past it, its one day out of the year.
  22. krissy72, Thanks so much for the info. on shoes.com . I just went and got each one of my children(3) a new pair of name brand shoes and it only cost me $120.00. You saved me so much money.
  23. Thanks, kbwdln! I had Dh call and they are doing Black Friday. But they only have 50 players. Yikes, I hope I get two of them. I didn't get a chance to get up there today so I have to take my chances on Friday.

    Tickets?

All the earlybird specials are in the aisles. Someone on here had a name for this but I can't remember what they called it. The other stuff that is just in the regular flyer are where they are orginally in the store. The one super wal-mart that I went to stayed open and you could go in and walk around to find what you wanted and then you just had to stand by that pallet until 5:00am. They would anounce when it was officially 5:00 AM and whoever was closet to that pallet would just rip off the plastic. Then you just proceeded from there. The Super Wal-mart I am going to this year was just built last year, before it was just a small Wal-Mart that closed and you had to wait outside till they opened. But they would have greeters with the tickets as you walked in.
  25. I am going to Wal-mart at 5:00 am(well I'll arrive sooner but...) and see if I can get two portable dvd players. Other items include the jeans, printer, and a few other things not sure what yet. But then while my son putters around Wal-Mart for awhile I will go down the road to ACE Hardware and see if I can get two of their portable dvd players. They don't open till 7:00am. If I can get them there the ones at Wal-Mart will go back on the shelves if not I'll buy them. ACE is the better deal so I hope I can score them. My husband called and they have 50 players. So we'll see.
