  1. Went to bed at 12 a.m. Kicked DH out of bed at about 12:30 a.m. (he went to sleep at 12:01 at started snoring before I had a chance to go to sleep). I went to sleep about 1 a.m. DS (5) and DD (9) were up at 4:30 a.m.!!!!!!!!!! I read the clock wrong and thought it was 5:30-- I thought that wasn't too bad. We had Santa, opened our presents from each other, and DH was back in bed before I knew what was going on :( leaving me to help open and put batteries in everything and try to pick up some of the mess while I could barely think straight!!! But, when he got up he made breakfast and let me lay down...which I did for an hour until I heard DS outside crying. (He fell and scraped his knee)--they are all cuddled up on the couch watching The Christmas Story. Now, I'm going to start THE MEAL!!! Most of it's mixed up already, just need to pop it in the oven.

Hope everyone had a great morning.

  2. DH just went out to Walmart -0- I knew he was nuts. He said he was looking for one more thing to get me that had been sold out everywhere he has looked....it's driving me crazy wanting to know what he is getting.

We are going out to Christmas Eve service at church tonight.

  3. If you give someone a gift, do you expect the receipient to open the gift in front of you at the time you give it or to wait until Christmas to open it?

We are taking our gifts over to my in-laws tomorrow. My SIL told me they were going to wait until Christmas day to let the kids open them. I just thought this was weird...I feel kind of cheated out of getting the see their kids open and enjoy the gifts I put so much effort into buying. (Selfish on my part, I guess)....

What do you think about this?

  4. I got this from a co-worker and loved it (I'm not big on eggs in breakfast casseroles):

2 cans crescent rolls (not the jumbo kind)

    1 lb sausage

8 oz cream cheese, softened and cubed

    Brown sausage and drain.

Mix the cream cheese into the sausage.

Unroll one can of crescent rolls and lay in the bottom of an ungreased 9x13 pan.

Spoon the sausage and cream cheese mixture over the layer of crescent rolls.

Unroll and place the 2nd can of crescent rolls over the sausage/cream cheese mixture.

Bake @ 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.

This is what we are doing this year. It is one of our favorites!

In the past, we've had Eggs Benedict.

  5. My Pharmacy was giving away all of it's old stock of Medical Alert Bracelets this week. I got one that says "Alzheimer's Patient" for my Dad. He does NOT have Alzheimers, but we accuse him of it all the time. I KNOW, it is NOT funny or "Politically Correct" for those of you who DO know someone with Alzheimer's, but my Dad will get a kick out of it. I will tell him to keep it......just in case.

Love it!!!! I thought I was all done shopping...I have gotta get one of these for my mom! (she doesn't have Alzheimers either)

  6. I just tried, and was told I have to do autopay

I have to talk to my honey before doing that

Be cautious with giving Dish access to you credit card and bank account info. They withdrew over 400 out of my account after I canceled with them (to pay for the receivers that I was trying to send back to them--they wouldn't tell me how to do it-- then they wouldn't send the boxes) -- and they continued to withdraw monthly fees. It took forever for me to get everything straightened out, which I eventully did, but it was a BIG BIG headache. I wouldn't do business with them again. I wouldn't advise giving them access to your money.

  7. I hate Dish too- we had a sales rep come to the door and talk my hubby into it- BIG mistake- he totally lied about so many things, and it has taken us six months to get it straightened out even though we have a signed contract with the rate we are supposed to get! They keep charging us double and telling us too bad. Hopefully the last rep we got straightened it out, but once our contract is up we are totally cancelling. They have the worst customer service I have ever dealt with, and will not even respond to emails that you send. I would pay more to deal with directv or cable any day

Thier customer service is the worst ever. I still think they have the best deal, especially if you want TV is 4 rooms to be hooked up. I don't care though...when I need satelite service again, I'll go with Direct TV (even though it cost more)

Dish is such a pain in the butt...they lie about their charges and getting everything worked out is next to impossible. I stuck with it and finally got our problems worked out.

  8. YIPPEEE!! I got my tree(s) finished tonight!!!! They look great!--I figure if the store can do it, then so can I...I have a big tree in our living room and nativity scenes, nutscracker, snowmen, and of course Santas all over the place. I have a skinny, but tall tree in my DH's bedroom and it is decorated all girly and my son has a cheap-o tree decorated...after it was decorated, it looked really good..Before kids, I started the day after Thanksgiving. Now, I know all about BF, so I reserve that day to shop. Also, I've learned that by decorating early, I can bribe/threatened the kids into behaving better between no and Christmas.
  9. Today, I popped in to see if they had any High School Musical (or Hannah Montana) stuff. They didn't :(

But, I did find one of those fuzzy posters, a hardback book about Phil Lesh (Grateful Dead)--cool gift for a friend of my DH, and some leather garden gloves (really nice)
