  1. My DH gets a bonus every pay check. It's some kind of plan where they get 20% of thier base pay if they meet all the goals for that pay period. (instead of making 26 and hour he gets 28) As of right now he gets it every check, but starting first of the year he won't He just started with this company in Aug. and it's not up and running yet. Still trying to get the rest of the building done, but when things get going and they start making more money they raise the bonus and the base pay can't wait for that!!!! They will get a christmas dinner and that's about it.......oh well, there's always next year :)
  2. You need to go in and buy it beforehand and go back before the sale is over and get a price adjustment. There are a few items that they will not have out that will be for BF, but I always go on Thanksgiving Day and get what I want and then go back on BF and get my adjustment. Ask the service desk to be sure, as some stores will not adjust on the BF ads. I think it verys from store to store. I think, but don't quote me on it, that it is a 7 day adjustment policy...ex. buy what you want on monday and go back during the sale friday and p.a. it... cut's out alot of time u could be spending in other stores
  3. Brad, the ad scan is missing page 4, and has page 25 twice....just thought i'd let you know
  4. I always find cheap stuff at walmart for the kiddo's and do alot of pm'ing. I hope to do it again this year as the nearest tgt and tru is 45 min from where I will be shopping at
  5. I bought a bunch of the spinning frames last year for gifts to the greatgrandparents. Put some family pic's we had made in them and they were a big hit and cheap too.....
  6. This site is the best..... By the way, don't know if anyone else noticed, but the Dora and Diego (12") bikes listed for 49.99 on thanksgiving day will be 24.99 on friday....will def. be getting one for my dd3!!!!
  7. I like both, but cool whip for the pie....or just a tub of cool whip is fine for dessert for me
  8. I worked at a cookie store when I was younger (that my aunt owned) and we made them all the time. We took regular cookie dough and put it in a pan and cooked it just like we did the cookies. Make sure that it's even all the way around, and just keep an eye on it. They come out great on a cookie sheet (we even used them when we had a big order) I was thinking of trying one on my stoneware from pam. chef. It should turn out just fine. Hope this helps....
  9. From what I understand it's not the same one in the lego catalog, but it's still a great deal. It is normally 98.99 from what I've read and is a really good set with some minifig's such as the princess, hans solo (i think) and at least one more. It also comes with a small spacecraft (not really sure of the name, or anything as I am not "star wars smart" I will be going over to the nearest Target this week to check it out, and will post something about it when I see it first hand. I have to travel to the next state to look though but it's not that far of a ride!!!
  10. I'm so excited....can't wait to see it You are the best Brad....you've made my day too!!!!
  11. Anyone??? Brad could u tell me how much they are?? Thanks
  12. that's still a good deal, and that's one of the lego sets he doesn't have, so I will still get it. I didn't realize that there is a collector series too I'm new to the lego's, my ds just started with them last year. Thanks for the info.....:)
  13. I am hoping they do in my area!!!! I'm so excited, I might not be able to sleep.........
  14. LEGO Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer, 59.99 IF this is the price it is an AWESOME DEAL!!!! Went online to find it at walmart and target, no luck , but pulled out our lego holiday catalog and it's in there, listed for $199.99. It also says it's a hard to find item. I'm hoping to score one for my ds8 (who will put it together all by himself) as his big christmas gift....that alone will make the whole day worth it!!!!
  15. I will look around here and see if I can find a music store and see what will be the cheapest route. Thanks for that suggestion. My dh had an electric one, but when we moved he gave it away. We had no idea my ds would take an intrest in it or we would have kept it. It was just a cheap one that someone had given us. Thanks again for the suggestions from everyone. btw...mil is getting the guitar hero for him for christmas!!!
  16. I think that this is a great idea. If there is a "loophole" in a program, someone will find it and use it to there advantage. It is unfortunate that people are always looking to take advantage of other peoples kindness. As I was reading all of these posts I just sat here and cried. The true spirit of christmas is to give, to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. No matter what the circumstances some of you still find a way to give and I think that is a great kindness. I have always wanted to choose a child and do this, but every year we are struggling to buy for our own children. I was recently telling a ex-neighbor (she is in missions and just moved away) about our own financial strain this year and she suggested that I contact a local church and have my children adopted. I know my children won't have a great christmas, but they have so much already (mostly things family has bought or hand me downs) & I know that there are familys in far more need than mine. I have spent $26 so far for christmas and have 3 presents for DS8, 7 for DD6, 4 for DD3, and none for DS1. I have around $275 (total not per child) to spend on them (what we can save between now and christmas) I will look for really great deals and make my money count. There will at least be stuff on christmas morning they can use, need & want. I will get the older 2 something nice (1 big item a piece DS Star Wars Legos & DD a scooter) and the younger ones won't care as long as there are some toy's and shoes (they have shoe fettishes ) Next year, I will be better planned, and hopefully we won't be as stressed with money & I can help someone in need. My family on the other hand will prob. not like getting a present, but for them the present from us will be getting to come home for Christmas. We recently moved 4 states away, and if we buy them presents we won't be able to go home. If you don't want to give to a charity, think about someone you know, or work with that is having hard times and help them out. Even a gift card to a grocery store is greatly appreciated when you don't know if you will be able to buy grocerys next week. Just wanted to share my opinion & story. Sorry it's such a long post.
  17. I'm a little old-fashioned and I love anything smocked & catalogs:D (Orient Expressed, Strausburg, Kelly's Kids, Chez Ami, Wooden Solider) Of course my dh hates it when I dress my ds1 in a jon-jon My kids have had LOTS of hand me downs, up until now. We have an outlet mall near us and I will be buying lots of stuff from there now. They have uniforms for school, so I don't worry too much with them. They have to be very basic, no logo, and really no style. I buy wm and tgt for play, and sometimes, if it's really cute to wear out too. I found the cutest dress last year at wm for less than $20 for easter. my dd6 got more compliments on it than a dress I paid almost 70 for at our local childrens store!!!! I can't really afford alot of the boutique brands now, so I shop on ebay, and at a childrens consignment shop. A friend recently decided to start selling on ebay, so she took me shopping (yard sales, church sales and consignment) to pick out really good brands to sell!!! she has almost doubled her money on everything she has sold!!!!!
  18. A friend of mine shops there all the time and told me about it yesterday...what great deals they have!!!!
  19. Does anyone know what the deal is on the hotwheels? I need ALOT this year. I couldn't see it on the ad or on the shopping list???
  20. So I was so in awe of the binder I went to WM a few minutes ago and got some divider tabs (already had a binder) and some paper. I have put the kids list on one, the gift list on one, and then the stores I plan on shopping at....thanks for such a great idea!!!! My family thought I was crazy last year with my notebook, wait till they hear about this
  21. Thanks so much for the input. I might just get a "cheap" guitar, as I think I saw them last year for around 20 or so, now to find someone to give him a few lessons and see if he "really" wants to learn to play....maybe next year I'll get it when we upgrade to a new system, or maybe just for dad this year !!!!
  22. I am in the same boat too....only I don't get paid in money for my job (lots of hugs and kisses though ) We have 4 kids to get for plus 1 nephew, 3 nieces, 2 moms, 1 stepdad, 3 grandma's, and 3 sets of granparents (which is my usual list cut almost in half) I try not to spend alot on anyone, and look for really great deals usually starting in Nov. The grandparents get some sort of boxed candy or food item (as they are all well off and don't need a thing or want for anything (2 sets just bought new cars in cash)) and 1 grandma gets an elvis calendar (she expects it every year) As far as the kids the only thing I have bought this year is: 2 bathing suits ($1 for trunks and $2 for a two piece), 2 sunglasses (1.99 at disney store), 2 t shirts ( $3 for hannah montanna, $3 for disney store) light saber ($1.10 after halloween clearance), 2 bubbles (1.25 a piece), playdough (1.88), 2 hair clips (1 hannah headband 1 princess @ $1 a piece) 1 bracelet (HM $2) and a pair of pj's (clone war's $4.00). I have only spent $26 so far . I did get my dn a pair of pj's too (transformer's for $4)...and will pick up a couple of the cars they have on sale at walgreens on BF and will spend a little over $5 for him. The dn's are a differnt story as they want stuff from aeropostle and hollister and stuff like that (young teens) I always shop the clearance racks on BF and get some really jam up deals. I don't have any ideas on what to get them before I shop, just look for really great deals and then decide if anyone on my list can use them We have decided not to buy for anyone but the kids. we are going to go home for christmas and this will be our gift for our family. We haven't been home in awhile, so they will be glad to see us. I'm going to give my nephew his pj's though cause he is only 4.
  23. Can anyone tell me about the Guitar Hero? I don't know anything about it, and was wondering if it's a game that could teach them a little bit about playing a guitar??? I am thinking of getting my ds8 one for his ps2 b/c he likes to play video games and wanted a guitar for christmas so I thought it would be the best of both worlds. Is it worth it or should I just get him a basic guitar??? My dh think's im crazy, but they have one of them on sale at Kmart this week for $45. I just wanted to know before I bought it so I don't waste my money.
