We put up all outdoor decor this weekend and will turn them on after Thanksgiving. The tree and indoor stuff will go up next weekend!

We always have a fake tree.....real trees are too messy for me lol!

I just went through the same kind of thing with my DS10 and his birthday. He wanted an Xbox 360.......if I had gotten him that I told him there would be no party and no other gifts. He said he didn't care if he got the Xbox. But I knew after his birthday he would have enough money to buy it himself. I decided to throw him a nice party and gave him a few other gifts he had wanted. He bought the Xbox with his own money the next day and I am so glad we did it this way. He takes much better care and is so careful with his Xbox now that he fully knows what the cost is because he had to hand his own money to the cashier. My son loves his purchase and is not upset that I did not buy him one for his birthday! So I would say let her buy her own while you get to fill the tree with all the other gifts you wanted to get! Either way, I'm sure she will be happy!

I bought a couple small trees 2 black fridays ago from Ace Hardware. I think they were 2 for $20 or around that. We use ours outdoors and this will be their 3rd x-mas and they still look great! Mine also have pots on the bottom and just sit on my porch so I'm not sure about the ones with stakes. I know I always see deals for them on BF! HTH
