I'm not getting it either. Did you possibly have a $10 credit on your account that they automatically applied to your purchase?

Tell me your hits this year for toys
Crue2001 replied to tjarena's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
My oldest son (13) is loving his GT World Tour Band Kit and actually got our 8 yr old son to pick up the guitar and try it for the first time yesterday (he already had GT III and a guitar, but my youngest wouldn't touch for anything). Our 8 yr old is loving all his toys, esp. his new Star Wars action figures...he already has a whole rubbermaid container full, but he got some new ones he didn't have and he's been making Daddy play Star Wars for a few days now. Hubby loves SW too, so it's not a big deal for him. They probably love more things, but they haven't actually taken them all out of their packages yet to play with everything. They still have another week off, so I'm sure they get thru them all soon. -
Swampbaby, does TaxSlayer happen to have a software pkg I can buy & install on my computer? I don't load my SS# on anything online, so I'm not a fan of doing online taxes, not even at IRS.gov. I know the sites are supposed to be secure, but hackers abound and I'm not willing to take that chance. **Nevermind, found the d/loadable version. I'll read up on that one. Thanks!

Intuit has changed the program and the charging issue after they received so many complaints and bad reviews of their 2008 product...here's a link to Intuit's response to all the complaints about charging for returns posted on Amazon.com. http://www.amazon.com/review/product/B001GLAVVU/ref=cm_cr_dp_hist_3?_encoding=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&filterBy=addThreeStar Also, here's an article discussing the issue. http://www.s-consult.com/2008/12/15/intuit-changes-mind-regarding-turbotax-2008-fees-now-allows-unlimited-federal-filing-and-up-to-5-e-files/ Once you get your TT product and run an update, you should not experience any $9.95 fees as were originally in the product.

Tax season is almost upon us and I'm ready to get started early. Looking for the best deal on TurboTax Deluxe (w/State) for 2008. I found it for $59.99 at several sites, $51.XX on Sam's Club and even better $49.99 at Costco.com. Unfortunately, Costco wants to charge $10.88 shipping, so that makes it over $63 for me (w/non member surcharge). So, if anyone sees any good deals (don't need Quicken...saw a rebate if you buy both together), please let me know. Thanks in advance!!

This card is good for Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse, Bahama Breeze, The Capital Grille, or any other Darden Restaurants. We don't go to Red Lobster or Olive Garden much and don't have a Longhorn Steakhouse or Bahama Breeze near us, so this is not very useful to us. So, if anyone is interested & has a $25 gift card to trade, I'd like to hear from you. Most useful cards for us would be ... Walmart Itunes Texas Roadhouse Lonestar Superfresh Ticketmaster Pizza Hut

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory DVD $3.50 @ Walmart.com

100% agree also, but my kids don't like the original at all...they do enjoy Tim Burton's films immensely, so I guess that explains them liking the newer, creepier version better. Guess I'll pick up the version THEY like! lol -
I agree that Prime is definitely worth the money if you purchase year round from Amazon. I use Amazon for books, vitamins, toys, games, printer ink, whatever we need if the price is better than the local store. (Plus for things like vitamins that are not carried in our local stores, I can use Amazon's subscribe & save, get a discount and set up automatic shipments for the time intervals I choose.) Even if you just use Amazon at Christmas time, I think the amount of shipping saved would at least equal the cost of Prime...it does for me. And keep in mind with Amazon's up & down crazy toy pricing around the holidays, you can use Prime to order each item when the price is down and not worry about getting your cart total up to $25 to get regular free shipping before Amazon jacks the price back up again.

They have a free standard shipping code for orders over $50 per recipient. Code: 08SEASON (good thru 12/21/08) I found these codes, but I don't know if they are still good (no expiration date listed): 895568 10% off 833551 15% off 849358 15% off 823467 15% off 832664 15% off Hope that helps you out some! Do post if these codes work for you! -
I tried to sign up my husband as a new account with the $59 rate, but it said I was or used to be a Prime member (same household basically) and did not qualify for the offer. I figured it would flag me, but I had to try...my Prime is set to renew at $79 on 12/14.

I just ordered a new desktop from Dell on Thursday 4th. When the order was completed, it said est. ship date was 12/30/08:eek:. UPS delivered it to my house yesterday. Hopefully, yours will arrive sooner than they stated as well. Good luck!

Just got a newsletter from Woot.com...looks like we're gonna have a Woot off starting tonight!!! "But be warned: you'll want to stay far away from Woot.com this week. The breadth and scope of bargains we'll be offering - especially starting Tuesday morning at midnight - will be powerfully tempting. They could even lead you back down the spend-spend-spend path with the rest of the sheep. And that would make us sad enough to cry while we're taking your money." [/color]
